The Laguna was designed by Joseph Lee, an esteemed American golf architect, and was opened in 1990. From the championship tee markers the course reaches 6,706 yards, and is a greatly enjoyable test of golf for every visitor.
The main obstacle apart from the ever-present water is the wind, which can be a nuisance as the location is somewhat exposed, but alternatively a cooling breeze can be extremely welcome, particularly in the steamy summer months.

Exceptional place to play golf

There was so much maintenance and building work happening. It seemed every hole there was a digger or dump truck, making noise and generally causing disruption. We were not informed of this. If we had know. We would have definitely not bothered.

The set up a Laguna was very good and the course looked beautiful. During our round there were high winds and couple with extremely fast sloping greens, it made putting too difficult even for very good golfers. This was reflected in the scoring. After finishing our round everything in the clubhouse was closed, meaning we couldn't enjoy a drink and were unable to get a free shuttle back to the hotel.

Weather was very wet before playing so course was probably playing harder than usual. A lot of work going on around the course which didn’t affect us but was unsightly

This course was under a lot of maintenance, fairways had a lot of weeds, some greens looked a little ill. A lot of water on this course.
