We stayed at the Monte Da Quinta Club and check-in went very smoothly so our golf holiday got off to a good start. The suites were very spacious and smart. The layout is a very similar feel to the rooms at the Sao Rafael Suite Hotel, which we stayed at on our last Algarve golf break. We had ground floor suites and so you have a decent terrace area outside each suite leading into a big open garden which was perfect for relaxing in the evenings before heading out to dinner. At breakfast each day there was a decent selection of fruits, cereals, cooked stuff and breads. Perfect fuel for a day’s golf. We had one lunch out by the pool which was perfectly good. We had a buffet dinner on our final night which was €25 all you can eat...needless to say we took full advantage!

There is a large outdoor swimming which would have been a great place to chill out had there not been so many kids tearing about the place. We were there over half term so that was to be expected I guess. They have an excellent indoor spa, which you can use free of charge, where you can enjoy an indoor pool, gym, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room etc. This was a great place to head straight after golf as it seemed to refresh and recharge the batteries for the evenings festivities.

Pine Cliffs is a 9 hole golf course in between Vilamoura and Albufeira. We found it quite tricky to find so maybe allow extra time to get there! The layout is extremely enjoyable even if it is a little on the short side. The fairways are very tree lined, just like the Quinta do Lago courses and San Lorenzo. The highlight is undoubtedly the 6th hole over the cliffs.

Everyone loved the Oceanico Old Course as it is a very pretty, tree lined course. The trees make it tight off the tees and high handicappers may struggle to enjoy this challenge. The condition of the course was great as well.

Quinta Do Lago South Course was the best course we played and was loved by all. The layout was absolutely stunning and it wasn’t as tight as the Oceanico Old Course. This extra bit of forgiveness made the experience a bit more fun as you could open up with the driver a bit more. The greens were the best we played on and made putting more enjoyable. The highlight of this course is the 15th hole. Look out for this one!
