Home to THREE championship courses
The La Cala Resort is one of very few courses in the Costa Del Sol that is home to three championship courses plus a 6 hole executive par 3 course. The layout of all three courses are spectacular with stunning views across the rolling hills of Mijas. They were all designed by renowned golf course architect Cabell Robinson who is one of the top designed in Europe having been mentored by Robert Trent Jones, who is one of the most popular names in golf course design having designed 500 courses around the world. We now take a closer look at the three La Cala courses; Campo America, Campo Asia, Campo Europa.

Campo America
The America Course is known for wide fairways and not many bunkers, making it one of the easier driving courses with plenty of opportunities to open your shoulders and rip one down the fairway. The course may be fairly wide but it is also very hilly with almost 3 quarters of the greens raised higher than the level of the fairway – so make sure you hit plenty of club to get the ball up hill.

Campo Asia
The Asia Course is the oldest course out of three opening in 1989, and is regarded as the toughest layout out of the three. The course is even hillier than the America track and has tighter fairways so accuracy and club selection are key. 3 out of 4 par 5’s are easily reachable in two giving you a chance for an eagle or birdie.

The course has previously hosted Q-School for the Ladies European Tour in 2005 & 2006 and also hosted the Spanish pairs professional championship in 2007.
