Jason Day has had a year he won’t forget in a hurry. In 17 events, he has won four including his first ever major at the PGA Championship whilst finishing in the top 10 at both the US Open and Open Championship.

His victory at The Barclays last week further acknowledged the fact that the Australian is ready to challenge Jordan Spieth for the No.1 spot and at the age of 27, he will undoubtedly go on and add to his trophy collection and possibly his wardrobe with the green jacket.

The stats show that Day has enjoyed a fine year with the putter. His average of 1.708 putts this golf season is second best behind Spieth. Not only that but Day is ranked first from putting outside of 25 feet. So what is his secret? Well obviously, the ridiculous amount of hours he has practiced with the putter in hands but TaylorMade also have a telling contribution.

Whilst his custom made Ghost Itsy Bitsy Spider putter (we don’t know who came up with that name!) is not available to the general public, TaylorMade have revealed the lengths they go through in order to make the putter perfect.

Elsewhere, the future looks bright for the Day family. A video has emerged of his three-year-old son on the driving range and he already looks a better player than most of us.

With a name like Dash, he can go on to achieve anything. TaylorMade may need to release another video of them making Dash’s putter one day.
