Recently Your Golf Travel showed their commitment to growing of the game of golf by sponsoring The Brabazon Trophy, one of the most prestigious amateur tournaments run by England Golf, with competitors preparing to become the next generation of tour professionals.
That commitment is set to grow with the announcement of a new partnership with Tournament Golf College, Europe’s leading Golf University. The College is committed to helping talented young golfers learn the skills to best prepare themselves for a life of playing golf on the world’s top tours, as well as providing a potentially vital professional qualification.
The degree programmes at Tournament Golf College run over 2 or 3 years (up to full BSc) and students split their time between Your Golf Travel customer favourite, the St Mellion International Resort in Cornwall, and the ever popular golfing hotspot that is the Algarve in Portugal and the Amendoiera Golf Resort.
St Mellion International Resort, home to 2 golf courses including the amazing Nicklaus Signature Course, is the UK base for the Tournament Golf College.
Students are taught principles valuable to aspiring professional golfers during the autumn term at a dedicated teaching facility, while simultaneously focusing on their golf at the St. Mellion International Resort. In January, they head for Portugal and sunny skies where they again use dedicated teaching facilities, plus the world leading practice and playing facilities at Oceanico Amendoiera.
The Oceanico Amendoeira Resort in the Algarve is home to two championship golf courses designed by European Tour legends Sir Nick Faldo and Christy O’Connor Jnr, as well as comprehensive practice facilities.
From a golf stand point, Tournament Golf College focuses primarily on three things; preparation, practice and play.

Mental, physical, tactical, technical, personal and academic aspects of preparation are all covered, while students are taught exactly how to practice too, and with the aid of the latest technology and proven coaching programme, that practice becomes as efficient and effective as possible.

The play aspect of the golfer’s education provides a competitive atmosphere in which students can learn from those in the know, with opportunities to play with and against successful professionals from the Challenge Tour, as well as European Tour winners including the likes of 1989 Order of Merit winner, Ronan Rafferty.
