So what are the reasons to go to the Ryder Cup? As one of sport’s most-watched events, The Ryder Cup, draws fans, both in-person and on television sets across the globe.
Taking place on rotation in Europe and The USA, the event draws a passionate crowd of golf fans to watch the spectacle unfold. With 45,000 spectators attending each day, the atmosphere is electric and the golf across the three days is one that matches that level time and time again.
Host courses of The Ryder Cup in recent years have been selected for their excellent transport links and viewing for fans. Whether that is The Twenty Ten Course at Celtic Manor with its rolling hills in the Usk Valley or The 2021 Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits courtesy of the huge sand dunes that Pete Dye sculpted to create a links style golf course in Wisconsin.
With practice starting earlier in the week, there are opportunities to see the teams warm-up ahead of the matches with pairings beginning to form and tweaks made to ensure they get the order right ahead of the foursome and fourball matches on Friday and Saturday before the singles on Sunday.

But here’s the real kicker: when a player finishes their match, their job is far from done. No, they don’t retreat to the clubhouse to bask in their own glory. Instead, they wrap themselves in their country’s flag and venture out to the course, rallying behind their teammates who are still battling it out in other matches. It’s a display of unity, of unwavering support, and it’s truly awe-inspiring.

Risk & Reward
The players who qualify for the 2025 Ryder Cup will need to prepare for a challenge like no other, this legendary course, which has hosted the U.S. Open in 2002 and 2009, is renowned for pushing even the most skilled golfers to their limits.
The layout is truly a work of art, showcasing the genius of its designer, A.W. Tillinghast. The course is adorned with his signature bunkers, each one strategically placed to test the golfer’s skills and challenge decision-making.
Bethpage Black Key Holes
Key Par 3’s
The 8th hole is a downhill beauty, with a pond just before the green adding a touch of challenge. Oh, and the lone tree on the right seems to have a magical pull on tee shots!
The 17th hole is a real stunner, with the most bunkers on the entire course. The green is like a little island, elevated and surrounded by sand traps. It’s quite a sight from the tee, and if you manage to walk away with a par, it’s even more rewarding.
Key Par 4’s
The amazing 5th hole at Bethpage Black. is a double dogleg par four, which is pretty rare in golf. The fairway slopes from left to right, and there’s a big bunker and trees waiting for any shots that go too far to the right. If you tee off on the left side, you might be able to shorten the hole, but it’ll also partially block the green and require a high-draw shot. It’s a beautiful hole with lots of options and risks, and the rewards are totally worth it.
Hole 2 can be a bit tricky because of the elevated green, but it’s a sub-400 yard par four that doesn’t need a driver off the tee. Plus, the green is super flat, so we may see quite a few birdies here.
Key Par 5’s
The 4th hole at Bethpage is regarded by many as the best par five design by Tillinghast. The bunkering is just beautiful and the double dogleg is reachable in two shots, but will require great accuracy to climb the hill and find the elevated green.
The 13th hole is the only par 5 on the back nine and if the conditions are right, will be reachable in two. The fairway is one of the narrowest at Bethpage so if missed may see the players lay up.
