Our summer of Great British Golf continues, next stop – Patshull Park. Nestled halfway between the towns of Telford and Wolverhampton, amidst rural Shropshire countryside, is the splendid Patshull Park Hotel, Golf & Country Club. It has a beautiful par-72 parkland golf course provides with a superb test of golf. The course was constructed by the renowned golf course designer John Jacobs in 1978, opening for play the following year. Since then it has matured, like a fine wine, into an enjoyable challenge that will test even the best of golfers as the course meanders its way through grand Wllingtonia, Oak and Beech trees. Although the course is not particularly long by today’s standards (measuring to 6,412 yards from the back tees) you’ll be required to negotiate a safe passage through the multitude of trees, lakes and streams that give the course its charming character and definition.

The course, although not the longest by today’s standards, provides an enjoyable and testing round of golf.


Patshull Park is also able to boast some great golf facilities including buggy hire and a comprehensively stocked pro-shop, as well as an extensive practise area and putting green – perfect for honing your skills before heading out to take on the golf course.

Once you’re completed your round, you’ll be invited to relax and recuperate in Earl’s Bar and Brasserie – here you’ll be offered a delightful selection of snacks and light meals, as well as a superb choice of refreshments.
