Titleist’s iconic putter brand Scotty Cameron has launched two new clubs – the Futura X7 and X7M, advances on the company’s popular Futura X line.

The firm says they combine new core technology with advanced perimeter weighting to increase stability and forgiveness throughout the stroke.

The Futura X putter family has already been a hit with golfers thanks to its modern look and extra stability. “The motivation behind Futura X always has been to help golfers make a more stable, more balanced, more consistent, more confident stroke,” said none other than Scotty Cameron himself. “We’ve enhanced those benefits with X7 and X7M through larger, multi-material constructions that make alignment simple. For the golfer, that translates into higher stability, a bigger sweet spot for forgiveness, easier alignment for a more confident setup, and a better, softer feel.”

Futura X7 is a large, modern wingback mallet (approximately ten per cent larger than the Futura X5), while Futura X7M offers a unique bar-back mallet design for additional stability. (The ‘M’ in X7M stands for ‘MOI’ or ‘Moment of Inertia’.)

Each Futura X7 model features a lightweight aluminium face-sole core surrounded by a stainless steel frame. This multi-material construction delivers improved MOI for stability and forgiveness, while producing the softest sound and feel in the Futura X family.

“The key feature is the two materials,” Cameron said. “Basically there are two constructions involved here. The feel and sound of the lightweight midsection are married together with the heavier surrounding heel, toe and back to be more forgiving, for better performance.”

Available in stores for £279 from October 23rd, Futura X7 and X7M models are currently in the bags of several tour players.

    Hi Richard
As a fan of all things Scotty Cameron, I was wondering if you have any forward forecast as to when SC will release a 2015-2016 version of the square back?
    Thanks Richard, good article.
