Suzann Pettersen

Suzann Pettersen is the esteemed captain entrusted with leading the European team at the Solheim Cup against the United States in 2023.

Pettersen boasts an impressive record of 21 tournament victories, including Major titles at the 2007 McDonald’s LPGA Championship and the 2013 Evian Championship. Throughout her illustrious career, she achieved 23 top-10 finishes in Major championships and reached a career-high ranking of No.2 on the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings.

Pettersen has represented Europe on nine occasions in the Solheim Cup, namely in 2002, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2019. Her most memorable moment came in 2019 at Gleneagles in Scotland, where she clinched victory for Europe with a decisive putt. She boasts an impressive 18-12-6 win-loss-tie record and has earned 21 points for the European team from 36 matches.

The Vice Captain’s

Laura Davies

Laura Davies brings a significant amount of expertise and experience to the European team. She holds the distinction of being the leading points scorer in the event, having accumulated 25 points from 46 matches played between 1990 and 2011. Furthermore, she holds the record for the most appearances in the event, having participated in 12 matches.

Davies’ remarkable achievements in the sport of golf extend to a global scale. She has secured an impressive 87 tournament victories, among these wins are 45 titles on the Ladies European Tour and 20 titles on the LPGA Tour.

In addition to her numerous tournament triumphs, Davies has also achieved a record-breaking seven Ladies European Tour Order of Merit titles. She made history as the first non-American to top the LPGA money list and has been honoured with induction into the esteemed World Golf Hall of Fame.

Caroline Martens

Caroline Martens was bestowed with the prestigious title of Golfer of the Year in Norway in the year 2003, in addition to triumphing as the victor of Norway’s Junior Championship at the tender age of 12. From 2012 to 2019, Caroline actively participated in the Ladies European Tour (LET), although she regrettably never secured a position on the team as a player.
