The best of the three we played in the view of just about all of us. The extra touches from the staff - free fruit, slushie, etc just about put it on top. I had a nightmare as trapped a nerve in my elbow approaching the first tee and couldn't play more than a couple of holes, but I stayed in the buggy and can confirm it was a cracking course. They were all superb to be honest, but if I could give more than five stars, this one would get them.
One of the jewels in The Costa del Sol's golfing crown, San Roque Old Course often tops the lists for must-plays in Spain. The Old Course is one of the most challenging in Sotogrande with the original design by Dave Thomas being heralded among professionals and amateurs alike.
Framed by rolling hills and established cork trees, The Old Course is truly unique golfing experience. Expect course management to be tested with plenty of bunkers in play and greens are smaller than you'd see at other courses.
Memorable holes include the 17th that is a great par-5 that meanders through cork trees with an elevated green surrounded by bunkers. Reachable in two but one that can easily ruin a round.
As a previous host of European Tour Qualifying School as well as The Spanish Open, golfers playing The Old Course at San Roque are ticking off one of the very best in Spain and Europe that golfers return to year-after-year.
