Time your trip away and you could be watching the World Touring Car Championships or the Superbike World Championships at Donington Park Race Circuit, under 30 minutes away from the hotel.

Or for an adventure day trip, you could head to the picturesque Peak District National Park and take in the spectacular scenery on some of the walking trails. Following this, finish at Chatsworth House within The Peak District to explore the home of The Duke and Duchess of Devonshire.

Situated in Norwich, less than 15 minutes drive from BeWILDerwood Adventure Park and 30 minutes from the Dinosaur Adventure Park, this is sure to be a fun destination for the kids as they play in tree-houses and swing from zip wires.

Or sun-lovers could head South from the hotel towards Great Yarmouth and enjoy the beach or even closer, enjoy a peaceful journey through rivers and lakes on a family boat at Norfolk Broads.

Closer to home, however, is also the cathedral city of Norwich and Norwich castle just 5 miles away for those that want to indulge into the past and explore some Norman history and art collections.

But if you don’t want to leave the hotel, then the neighbouring La Fontana Health & Spa is equipped with an indoor pool, a children’s pool, whirlpool, sauna, steam and a gym. All of which is surrounded by parkland and a championship golf course to provide a truly tranquil experience.

With over 10 pubs within 8km of the hotel, this certainly could be a good pub crawl adventure. Starting at the Oak on the Green, only 1.6km away, by enjoying a nice pint in the sun in this historic pub’s beer garden, then head towards Maidstone and see how many pubs you can get to.

But if you would rather enjoy the countryside and enjoy a quiet drink, then there is still the beautiful Kent Countryside, known as the ‘Garden of England’ as well as the Mezzanine Hotel bar right on your doorstep. If you’re going for a weekend, a perfect day could be spent eating a special Sunday carvery at Conical Grill whilst taking in the atmosphere.

Also with Leeds Castle just 2.7 miles away, visitors can get lost in the 500 acres of parkland, gardens and a maze whilst rolling back the history of 6 English Queens and Henry VIII. And for those willing to travel around 40 minutes, you can head to Canterbury and visit Canterbury Cathedral  for even more medieval experiences.

Marriott Meon Valley

Although Meon Valley is set inland, at only 10 miles from Southampton there is the potential to enjoy some time in the sea during your holiday here. Just a short drive away and you could be spending your day-off golf, sailing the Southampton coast.

But don’t think you have to enjoy the sea to have fun here, as Meon Valley is also nearby the South Downs national park so there is plenty of English countryside to discover and to enjoy hiking or cycling across the landscape.

If physical excursions are not how you want to spend your trip, however, there is also the Paulton’s Peppa Pig World Theme Park and Marwell Zoo for a fun-family day out.

Or perhaps just stay and enjoy the swimming pool, tennis courts, gym and spa at the hotel during the day and then head to the award winning Broadstreet restaurant offering a varied international cuisine. Marriott Forest of Arden is the perfect get away from the busy city-life, surrounded by 10,000 acres of Warwickshire countryside and fully equipped with a spa, sauna, steam room and pool.

Embedded amongst the ancient grassland, it could be a good idea to take a walk around the hotel grounds and towards the Packington Estate. Here you can take in the spectacular scenery and enjoy some fishing, whilst taking in the natural environment amongst the Nature Reserve.

Whilst located in Parkington Park, the hotel is slightly more secluded from nearby restaurants. However, with a double AA Rosette award-winning restaurant in the hotel who needs it. Serving delicious full continental breakfasts before your round and luxurious dining experiences in the evening.

For the sport and activity enthusiasts, there is plenty going on. Take a break from the course, and enjoy swinging a racket instead with the multiple tennis courts and table-tennis tables available. Or perhaps see if your putting stroke will work at Croquet.

But if on your trip you do fancy leaving the hotel, Birmingham is just a short journey away. Nearby attractions include Warwick Castle, just 15 miles away, Drayton Manor Theme Park and Cadbury World within 30 minutes. Added to this, there is the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham, with over 140 trade and consumer events each year so be sure to check what’s on during your trip.

Marriott Lingfield Park

Uniquely set on Lingfield Park Race Course in Surrey, this hotel is sure to get horse racing fans excited. Visitors could spend one day playing golf and watching championship horse racing from their balcony the next.

But if you fancy a wonder around nearby there is the National Media Museum in Bradford which includes the UK’s first IMAX and an interactive game centre.
