Spanning a lovely parcel of undulating heathland, Brampton was mapped out by James Braid, the prolific Scottish designer responsible for some of the most revered courses in the UK. The par-72 stretch can reach 6,407 yards from the tournament pegs, so length is not a major concern, but Braid's classic treatment of the land means there is no shortage of challenge or intrigue.
