0800 043 6644Nestled in 150 acres of Cheshire parkland, the golf course at The Mere Golf Resort & Spa is renowned for its beauty. The James Braid designed layout is defined by mature trees, rhododendron bushes and a charming natural lake, and measuring 6,817 yards will provide a stern test to even the most talented players. Accuracy is paramount here as thick vegetation awaits any shots that stray too far off line. The last four holes in particular are notoriously challenging so golfers will need to stay focused until the very end.
To warm up before tackling the main attraction players can make use of the unique floating golf ball driving range, find their range on a two tiered putting green, pitching and bunker practice area or go that step closer to perfecting their swing by booking a lesson and making use of state of the art video analysis equipment.
The Mere is ranked as one of the best courses in North West England
To supplement the outstanding golf course and newly opened spa at The Mere Golf Resort & Spa a new world class hotel will start welcoming guests in early 2012. Guests will be able to enjoy a fine selection of 81 bedrooms and suites that will accommodate even the most discerning of travelers.
Three outstanding restaurants will be open to guests and the existing catering facilities will undergo an extensive revamp to ensure they meet the standards that the new hotel will set.
The newly opened spa is the perfect place for visitors and golfers alike to relax and unwind. Consisting of 7 treatment rooms, a hydrotherapy infinity pool, salon, steam room and 20 metre swimming pool, the spa is a haven of tranquility and well-being. For the more active guests there is also a state of the art gym and aerobics studio all of which is set in an impressive listed building.
The Mere is also perfect for business purposes as there are also extensive conference facilities on offer that include three air-conditioned conference suites and three smaller board rooms; perfcet for meetings.
Excellent
The hotel rooms were excellent and the staff very helpful. The breakfast was excellent. The evening meal was disappointing for the following reasons -: The chips were very soggy, The steak was tough and The strawberries and cream was very small portion
The overall experience was incredible. Played a lot of golf in the UK and this is up there with these best. Stunning venue, awesome staff, great facilities and an all round perfect weekend. Even saw the heavy weight campion of the world there Mr Fury which topped off what was already a weekend to remember.
The golf was excellent. The experience was spoiled somewhat by the dinner. We had already paid £35 each for the dinner, and this was also included in the menu for package guests. The waiter tried to charge us this £35 again, and said it had to be claimed back when checking out the following day. We refused to pay this again, and a new bill had to be created taking into account the £35 each that we had already paid. I believe they want guests to forget this part when checking out, thereby retaining the money for themselves.
Very nice
Pleasant stay at the Mere for golf break. Staff at the pro shop welcoming and helpful Main restaurant Browns is rather open to reception area but the lounge bar provides a relaxed atmosphere.
Great rooms no complaints
We had a problem with the meals at the hotel we did not get wot we ordered was told to report to yet who were very little help so would not recommend yet to anyone and shall not be using them again
Very welcoming, staff couldn’t do enough for us! Will definitely return
Golf/sports bar was lovely but found the hotel restaurant and bar very small. It seems the hotel cater should for large groups who occupy a function room. Staff worked hard and were all very young.
It was value for the money we paid. Food and beverages were a bit on the expensive side, but overall a good place to stay.
Great hotel room lovely enjoyed staying would come back
Very enjoyable. very covid 19 aware. Staff were excellent
Amazing hotel! The food was beautiful and we will definitely go back. The staff are all very helpful and friendly

No problems at all.
Enjoyed the golf course and would recommend it to my friends.
Enjoyed it. Definitely go again
Enjoyed the course. Two temporary greens in play but the greens which were under maintenance will add value. Ground staff worked hard to keep the fairway clear of leaves from the many trees.
Went round in 4 hours
Not used to so much water, lost a lot of balls between us! Thoroughly enjoyed it and the views
No Marshalls patrolling. Large groups of 4 hence very, very slow as a 2 ball following them despite groups ahead teeing off an hour before us!! On day 1 we caught the group up on the 5th and day 2 on then 3rd. Marshalls came out once to speed things along but need to be on the course constantly to keep people moving or letting groups behind through. By the last few holes there were 3 groups on a hole and 3 groups waiting to tee off. For a course that is clearly trying Tom capitalise on visiting golfers, they need to review their course marshalling. Waiting on every shot doesn’t make for a very enjoyable or good round of golf.
In good condition, fairways were great. Was good for the start of August.
Course in great condition last 2 holes challenging really enjoyed playing
Very quiet at times , playing millionaires golf. Obviously no large parties due to restrictions.
Fantastic set up, very classy. The course is great. The only criticism we had was the condition of the bunkers, not enough sand in some of them. However we all agreed it was stunning. Loved it.
