Awful customer experience. Booked either the grill or claret and jug restaurant, got put in Barneys. Arrived at 7.20 and got given the wrong table, then took our drinks order - 8pm no drinks? Went and told them, no apology just came and re-ordered… food came out and was just put at the end of table for us to pass down … 8 people! The waiter said ‘pork’ for pigs in blankets… mains came 30 mins later which was simple (all burgers)… got to 9.15pm and started to clear the plates, we asked for desert and was told the ‘kitchen was closed now, the chefs had done - they couldn’t wait to get off’ - really? Got offered a free drink instead but no apology. Came from breakfast the next morning and the staff were just inattentive and dull (I can’t describe them in any other way, apologies) it was like they didn’t want to be there and we were an inconvenience to them. I work in the customer service sector and without customers you’d have no business - I definitely would not come back to Mottram Hall, that’s for sure.
Set in the enchanting woodland of the Cheshire countryside, Mottram Hall is the perfect spot for a country retreat, boasting a luxury Georgian country house hotel and epic 18-hole championship golf course.
The host of the 2013 European Senior's PGA Championship, the layout at Mottram Hall makes for an interesting round, the front 9 offers plenty of chances to score, but the back 9 runs through dense woodland, threating to take back shots you’ve gained. Although Mottram Hall is surrounded by 270 acres of stunning natural scenery, the hotel is only 30 minutes from Manchester and less than 15 minutes from the Peak District National Park.
The hotel is splendid on the inside, with a cosy, boutique design and features stunning private gardens. The award-winning spa is the perfect place to unwind after a round and the AA Rosette awarded restaurants offer a number of delightful dining options.
