Great Hotel,16 of us stayed for a Golf break. Sauna and Spa were great as was dinner and Breakfast. Sky TV in lounge,squash, table tennis and racquetball all available. We voted it 1 of the best Sunday driver deals we've ever had.( we've had a LOT!)

The hotel is located on a large estate which gives it a wonderful country feeling. The staff are very friendly and helpful from your first encounter to the last. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The dining from your breakfast selection to the dinner was superb - my rump was perfect. I had a great visit and would highly recommend it.

It was okay. The room had no air con and no fan in the room and it was extremely hot. There was a wedding on that you kept needing to walk through to get to all the facilities. It was okay but not amazing. The golf course was very basic with only one par 5. No driving range or warm up facilities unless you used the one hitting bay on the small practise ground in the middle of the course. The putting and chipping areas were very small. The greens were very slow for this time of year. Also it says they have buggies when we got there the pro shop was closed and you had to dial a phone number if you wanted anything which was poor and also meant no one was keeping an eye on tee times. There were no buggies - they had one which was booked out for our whole stay which was very poor! The course was okay but again nothing amazing. Overall decent but I’d hope for a bit more in all honesty.

Hotel was pretty grand looking. It had seen better days, so wasn’t particularly modern but still nice and is obviously a bit a spa destination. It wasn’t busy due to the time of year, so we were well looked after and the dinners were really impressive. We’ve done several of these golf breaks and this was by far the best dinners we’ve had on offer. Really good quality food. The bar was quite small, but nice enough and plenty of nice outside space for the summer. Breakfast was definitely very ordinary tho so that was a bit of a shame! Facilities were great, you could use the pool, spa and gym. It was clean, roooms were a good size and really comfortable. And quiet too. They had a big function on, but that was kept completely separate from the guests so wasn’t an issue at all. Overall we were really impressed and although we usually like to go for different places each time, we definitely said we’d come back to this one.

My husband & two sons stayed for golfing trip. They said the rooms were very clean and comfortable. They had everything they needed in the rooms. The staff were very helpful. The staff were really good, and looked after us well. The room was like a lot of hotel rooms, functional and adequate for what we needed. We were on a golf weekend. Liz was excellent and went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable time. The evening meal was very good, as was the breakfast the next morning. Both supervised by Liz.

Hotel was ok except the jacuzzi wasn’t working and they said they could fix it in 5 mins, half an hour later still not working so asked if we could use the one outside which was for spa guests and told no, it was 5.30 so there was no one in the spa. The bar prices were very expensive, and the food wasn’t great, ordered a bacon sandwich which was £5.50 and the bacon was rock hard, obviously left over from breakfast. Evening meal was no better, ordered fish cakes for starters and they were cold, the main was very average, not what you’d expect at a hotel restaurant and there was a long wait. Breakfast was ok except no coffee machine unless you paid for one and the hash browns were cold. The air con didn’t work in the room so it was very warm and stuffy

Had a superb stay at this hotel, all staff really friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble. Rooms were fantastic, moved us from standard room to air con room without any hassle. Swimming in the outdoor heated pool awesome! Dinner and breakfast were exceptional. Golf course great fun for all 8 of us. Definitely use this venue again, great value for money.

We were delighted with our stay at this hotel which we found extremely comfortable. The staff are really helpful , the breakfast was superb and we were served so well by Elli and Hannah and for a great dinner by Liz and her team. Everything is so well organised with tea and coffee on each table with flasks and the hot buffet is of such a high standard. thank you to all the staff who worked so hard to look after 8 of us who came to play golf. The Swimming pool, sauna and hot tub are just what we needed after a round of golf. Hot Coffee is complementary and freely available. Everyone on the group was delighted with the accomodation, food, service and facilities . Thank you Ardencote. we will be back.

Handy for our day watching golf at the Belfry - lovely food and good facilities in the hotel. Nice quiet golf course, with a couple of lovely holes. A bit samey on some holes though, and every green looked the same. Good games to be had at the hotel - pool, table tennis etc, and the pool and gym were good. Thoroughly enjoyable

Need £1 for lockers, already knew this from reviews. If you need a towelling robe it costs £5.Towels given. I thought it was too much for a robe would prefer a deposit but I guess some are not returned.

This was an excellent stay - the food was great and so were the bedrooms. The facilities were great, too. Unfortunately, despite the staff’s best efforts, they could not cope with the number of guests and there were countless occasions where our plates were left, desserts were forgotten, and payment was not being taken on time. We were often waiting around for someone The staff were all friendly and always working at 100mph but I would suggest that Ardencote need to employ at least 2 more people during the busy dinner times to alleviate some of the pressure. One morning, the location of breakfast had changed and nobody had been notified.

Staff absolutely brilliant. Friendly, helpful and good table service. Very nice setting with lots of outdoor seating, nice gardens. One small window in bedroom, overlooking some rooves :( Very little drawer space. Small quite hard bed. Good shower with offer of towels when needed. OK for us as we spent very little time in it, but a bit basic. Excellent food with a good choice. Spa facilities OK. Our golf package was excellent value.

What a beautiful hotel! Checking in was very easy and quick. We asked for our dinner reservation to be changed to earlier which was no problem at all. Found our room and were very pleasantly surprised. Very spacious and clean with a comfy huge bed. We booked bed, breakfast and evening meal and the food was lovely, the lamb was delicious! Great breakfast with lots of choice and good service throughout. Beautiful hotel and we will return.

We arrived early not expecting our rooms to be ready but they were so we were pleasantly surprised. The Hotel has really tried to make the guests safe against Covid 19 with hand sanitisers placed everywhere and face masks worn by all the staff. The rooms had seals on the door to show nobody had entered since it had been cleaned. We were on a golf break so we didn’t have time to experience the pool and spa but we will lengthen our stay if we go again. The food was lovely, we had a dinner in the restaurant and it we couldn’t fault it. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The only negative is that the bathroom could do with upgrading. We will certainly go again.

It was a lot trickier than we thought it would be! Very enjoyable with some quirky holes! Way more interesting than we thought,only 1 par 5 and 6 par 3's but none of us played to our H'caps. Superb value for money, wouldn't hesitate to recommend 👍.

The course was a bit of a mixed bag. We had booked a buggy for one player only to be told on the day that it was broken and had been for weeks. The golf shop was only open on the Saturday morning. We were a group of 12 playing matchplay competition and we had a couple encouraged to join us on the tee (as booking system allows 4 bookings per tee off). Overall it's fantastic value for money and was a great course for us (handicaps 18 to 30). It feels like the golf is maybe the weakest aspect of the hotel's offering.

I think if you play here after some good rains it would be a more enjoyable golfing experience. I am not going to penalise the club for having to endure a very hot and dry summer which left the course very hard, dry and sandy. The greens are tiny postage stamps so it will test your ability to stop a ball in the place you desire. Overall it's a great stay and play location and I would recommend it but check on how much rain they've had before going.

We played a few rounds in October and it had been pretty wet, but we were impressed with how good the greens still were. Tee boxes had taken a bit of a hit, and it’s low laying so fairways had a lot of water but that wasn’t too much of a problem. So it turns out that it used to be a 9 hole course which was turned into an 18, and that did show as the back 9 was fairly long and straight and most holes felt the same, so it did feel a bit of a slog just going up and down the same long par 4’s. But to be honest we enjoyed it. It wasn’t busy so when we inevitably strayed onto the next fairway, you could still play easily enough to your hole as the trees are still pretty small. Overall, as part time ‘golfers’ we enjoyed the course and how casual it was. If you’re looking for a golf challenge, then I wouldn’t recommend it, but if you want a few friendly rounds with friends, then I really would.

The Fairways were not cut, the tee boxes were horrendous with hardly any grass on them and the greens had more sand on them than the bunkers and were unplayable. Wasn't told that the greens were going to be in that condition if i was told we would have asked for refund and gone elsewhere.

Personally I played poorly, but the course, although short, is quite challenging. Our play was slow as my colleague cannot walk properly and was hindered as his electric trolley did not work. We did not play the second round as my friend was not physically up to it.

A very long par 3 start is followed by some straight forward holes leading to pretty 7,8 and 9. Hole 7 is over water to a small well protected green! Some tricky holes follow alongside mostly straightforward golf. Final drive has to clear an enormous oak, great fun!

Overall the golf was good, the course was still a little damp in places, but that was just down to the recent rains. Some of the par 3’s were testing, and a couple of the par fours on the back nine were a bit samey.But we enjoyed both rounds and they were both about 4hrs, which considering the course was full wasn’t bad. The only thing which left a bit to be desired was the golf shop, which didn’t really have anything other than tees and ball markers for sale. Also we felt there should have been a bar for the golfers, as it seemed that the Brassiere was the only place to socialise, which seemed a little awkward with people sat in robes that were between treatments in the Spa and pool area. But we had a good time and shall hopefully return again in the not too distant future.

The course is fine - was very wet so we had to carry. Whilst the weather cant be helped communication re trolleys etc should have been better. The shop was not staffed which was frustrating. Course very short and as a result greens unfortunately scarred with pitch marks many if which are not repaired - whilst this isn't the clubs it has negatively affected the experience.

We deliberately chose what was hopefully a fairly straightforward course (slope rating was only 103 and 2 of our party were very occasional golfers)and weren't disappointed. The course was flat with generous fairways. The greens were in a decent condition, but seemed very slow compared to what I am used to. My only issue, and it's a minor one, was that there was not a single bench on the course. Temperatures were in the eighties and we had to let a couple of groups through, so somewhere to sit would have been nice.

It was good course, only downside was your golf travel said it had buggies and reserved us 3 for the rounds when we got there they didn’t have any golf buggies for this course. My dad being quite elderly didn’t play the second round but would have done with the buggy. Just need to make sure this is made aware to people travelling to different golf courses as might stop people going certain places

This course looks small in terms of yardage but it is very deceptive as it requires good course management with many water, tree and bunker obstacles. The course is very cleverly designed and it took us 4 hours to get round and we all loved playing on it. It was well maintained, and in good condition. Its not very busy so we found the course very relaxing to play on. They have no buggies but it is relatively flat so most people will be able to walk it. we were a group of retired golfers and we all managed to go around on foot. We thought the golf package is exceptional value as it includes the great hotel, SPA and dinner and breakfast, a great location and ambience. We hope to be back. Thank you to all the staff.

This is the first course of I've played where the slope rating takes shots off your WHS index. The course was new and easy and not challenging enough for us as 7 and 12 handicappers. Would suit veteran or high handicap men & women players. Enjoyed our game though. Green keepers were in action so always a good sign it's maintained well. Nice pretty par 3 on the front 9 but watch out for the out of bounds markers.

I didn't go as I had Covid, these are the comments from my friends who went: "Course 6/10. Just a little uninspiring - up and down a field. Bit of water hazards to spice things up a bit. If any of us were playing half decent we could get a low score. A fairly forgiving course, not too naughty, flat as a pancake. They could have designed it a bit better I suppose than 5x par 3's out of 7 holes in the middle, followed by 6x par 4's to finish, which were a bit samey."

But overall great course and great condition! Take additional balls for hole 6 and 9, they are big lakes! Would definitely return.

A nice easy walking course for our society who are mostly 60 plus in age. Some of the green were suffering from disease and the tees were a bit tatty but overall the course was good value for money. I would question the yardages on the tee boxes. Some were way out. There is no way that the 7th is 230 yards!!

Nice and simple, newish course. Greens aren’t great and are very small. Some tees way to close to greens and the doglegs are short and sharp. Starting times were very badly managed. Absolutely no control of the first tee, which when you have big hotel groups, can be a problem. Despite my confirming the tee time earlier in the week, on the day they had no clue about our booking. Needed to slot us into a busy first tee. Course is very basic, we enjoyed it, but it’s definitely nothing special.

Golf course is in decent condition, greens are pretty nice, there are a couple of nice par 3’s hitting over a lake but apart from them pretty straight forward. There is a little shop that just sold tee’s and gloves but didn't have any drinks which was annoying and on our second day nobody was there at all.

Really enjoyed the course. Shortish (par 67) but plenty of variety: trees, water etc. The greens had recently been treated so not yet at their best, so difficult to give more stars but I imagine they are usually pretty good. Not all the party were regular golfers so it was just right for our golf break: accessible for higher handicaps and a variety of challenges for lower handicaps. Will happily book another golf break there in the future.

A good course which we enjoyed over four rounds/days. Nine holes quite different to the other nine. Looks like they've added nine which are much more open, less interesting with only very young trees. Course in good condition. Greens were quite fast, but could have had more grass. Don't be fooled by all the par 3's, most are quite long and difficult. Our 12 players only hit about six in the four days. The Pro shop is very limited and every day we had to phone to get it open, however they came within a few minutes. THERE ARE NO BUGGIES! Despite asking Your Golf Travel to organise at least one buggy for two members of our group for medical reasons, neither YGT or the club came up with anything. YGT never even replied! Two buggies were at the course being used by ground staff and a Course Marshall. The only consolation being that it is an easy walk, not too long and flat. Excellent value and we had a great time.

I chose this course as my wife was a beginner. The course was very good. From the yellows tees over the water was quite cheeky. But was great for my wife off the red tees as this eliminated most of the water. The greens are well kept and I would recommend the course and will be back.

Although the course is still relatively new there are some beautiful holes. Especially the Par threes. Once the trees have established this will define the fairways and gradually make the course more difficult. The greens are small targets so you need to be accurate!

This is a nice golf course for the average player with some very pretty holes. We particularly enjoyed the challenge of the par 3 over the water. The back nine is still very new and is a little repetitive. Some improvements would include more prominent direction signs from green to tee, a pro shop open all day and more information signage on the red tees.
