Mountain golf is something special, and the Alps are surely the most dramatic of any high altitude destinations in Europe. The south German setting is matched by the famous Bavarian welcome at one of the area's most prestigious clubs.
Designer Donald Harradine took full advantage of the landscape in creating a celebrated yet unorthodox course; opening with a par 5, the course continues in an unusual vein, as there are no less than 5 long holes on route to a par of 74.
At 6,785 yards, length is not a primary concern, and any golfer familiar with mountain golf will know the benefits of the thinner air. Harradine's creation is much loved by the greater golfing community, and while Bavaria and the Alps in general may not be widely acknowledged as a revered golfing destination, Beuerberg is one course that does much to dispel the notion. Why not break the mould and head to Germany's traditional south for an enchanting golf holiday?
