0800 043 6644Measuring 6,973 yards from the championship tee boxes, the course can be viewed as two distinct nine hole loops; the opening half is probably the more forgiving - although there are water hazards to be avoided, sound strategy and accurate driving should yield birdie chances. The closing stretch however is more exacting, particularly the final three holes, which are more exposed to the coastal winds and demand powerful and precise ball-striking.
Despite only opening for play in 1995, Bonalba is already seen as one of the premier clubs on the Costa Blanca, and any golfing getaway in the Alicante area should certainly include a visit here.
Good
Really enjoyed the golf here and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The course was in excellent condition, and have only given it one star less for condition because they were in the process of digging out further pools, when these are completed the course will look even prettier. We ate at the lovely club house and everything was beautiful.
Lots of building work going on at the moment.
my experience in pro shop was not a good. but my rep from your golf travel was excellent and had it sorted in minutes. That being said course was a little untidy but enjoyable
Nice course, fairly easy to walk
Fairways well maintained but greens (pitch marks) and bunkers (not raked) need attention Enjoyable fun course
Read some reviews before we want and had some concerns, however after playing the 1st round of 3 our four ball all agreed that we couldn't disagree with with some of the reviews. The course was in excellent condition, the fairways and greens were suburb. Some of the bunks could to reshaped and overalled, but that is the only thing. Would recommend this course to anyone to play.
Another long course with interesting and sometimes challenging holes. Generally the course is in good condition but the hard work of the greenkeepers is let down by the poor behaviour of some visiting golfers who do not rake the bunkers or repair pitch marks. Great buggy's with inbuilt satnav showing maps of the course with distances and other helpful information available at the touch of a button. Very good off course facilities with a large restaurant, and a veranda overlooking the course, offering a good range of food and drinks at reasonable prices.
The only problem we had with the course are the tee boxes, not a single flat one, otherwise great condition.
After Hotel Alicante Golf where everyone was Uber friendly I pretty much had a stand off with the lady on reception where I didn't have the voucher for 16 friends and she wouldn't let us play. Resolved with an email but not at all friendly. The starter/ course marshall wasn't overly welcoming and the carts are so slow it is quicker to walk. The greens are ridiculously quick. Actually, thinking about it, I am changing my rating to 2 stars. And our buggy packed up so we had to swap. 2 at best.
The fairways were poor but the greens were good. Play was extremely slow.
Some nice interesting holes, we were teamed up with a Swedish couple on the first day and they were lovely, had layer previously so new their way around the course. The course does need some signage guiding to the next tee, it was minimal at best and in some cases non existent. The water came in to play on every hole, but you could play around it, didn't have to go over it .
This course was in the worst condition of the three we played. I have to make an allowance because it is so busy and clearly the greens do not get the attention they need.
Golf was good. Greens were very soft and a little slow but other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our two rounds. 2nd day particularly was very quiet on the course so no hassle from following golfers.
Was OK - no real complaints. Nothing spectacular.
Really enjoyed the course, the greens were slow but it was a good layout with some great holes.
Greens are appalling. Played here a few years ago and they were appalling then but thought it may have been a one off. It wasn’t. Didn’t have enough buggies (which we had pre booked months ago) so we were over an hour late for tee off as we waited for them to come back in from earlier groups. Surly woman on reception is still just as surly - I’m not sure why she works there if she hates it so much. Bar staff very friendly and attentive.
