1 Night, 1 Round
- 1 Night Dinner, Bed and Breakfast at Breadsall Priory Marriott Hotel & Country Club
- 1 Round at Priory Course
1 Night, 1 Round
Found in the rolling countryside of central England, just south of the Peak District National Park, Delta Hotels by Marriott Breadsall Priory Country Club offers two distinct championship golf courses wrapped around a Grade II listed priory with roots that go back centuries. The Priory Course is the headline act, a mature parkland test that demands accuracy and course management across 6,500 yards. The Moorland Course, designed by Donald Steel, is more than worthy of being played, offering a contrasting layout with wider fairways and strategic bunkering.
Located in Derbyshire on the outskirts of Derby, the central location makes it easy to reach for golfers across the UK. The hotel itself is a magnificent piece of local history, though nothing inside feels out of date. You'll find excellently appointed rooms, modern facilities including a spa and leisure club, and two dining venues that range from traditional British breakfast to relaxed evening grills in a historic wine cellar.
Breadsall Priory works particularly well as a weekend break or short golf tour base. The two courses give you variety without needing to travel, and the on-site spa and leisure facilities mean non-golfers or those nursing a sore back after 36 holes have plenty to keep them occupied. The location also puts you within striking distance of other Midlands courses if you want to build a longer itinerary, and if you're putting together a UK golf break in the region, Breadsall Priory is an easy one to build around, especially if you want 36 holes on site.
Who is this for?
Groups and couples who want two rounds on site, a proper spa for down-time and a hotel with character, not a faceless chain feel.
Who is it best for?
Mid-handicappers and societies who want one sterner test (Priory) and one round that keeps everyone smiling (Moorland), plus a bar and grill that suits a post-golf catch-up.

The Championship Priory course is the premier layout at the resort, and since its inception in 1977, has emerged as one of the best in the local area. The Priory skirts the stunning hotel, and requires accurate play to negotiate the tree-lined fairways. Though not particularly long, the Priory is demanding, and attracts visitors back again and again with its charm and spectacular views.

Breadsall Priory's second course is the Moorland, which differs in style to the Priory, offering golfers a great variety. Set amidst the lush Derbyshire countryside, the Moorland is more open, but is also fortunate to offer views to equal its neighbour.
Breadsall Priory is one of the few resorts in the East Midlands to have two 18-hole courses, making it a great choice for a golf break.

The Priory's signature 12th provides the golfer with spectacular views from an elevated tee. The fairway has a slight dogleg right, and with the pin often placed at the right side of the small green, it is important to hit to the left side so that the tree doesn't block your view on the approach!

The magnificent stately residence that is now home to Delta Hotels by Marriott Breadsall Priory Country Club dates back to 1260, and the historic setting is one of the most spectacular destinations for a golf break in the Midlands. The façade of the Grade II listed construction is in stark contrast to the contemporary facilities that await inside.
The 112 guest rooms are designed and furnished to complement the traditional style of the house, but also feature all the modern amenities expected from a top quality hotel. Rooms are spacious and well appointed, with comfortable beds, modern bathrooms, and everything you need for a relaxing stay after a day on the course. The blend of period character and contemporary comfort works well, giving you the feel of staying in a country estate without sacrificing convenience. If you're booking for a group or society, there's plenty of capacity, and the layout of the hotel means you can spread out without feeling cramped.
Breakfast is served in the Priory Restaurant in a classic, traditional setting. For dinner, The Cast Iron Bar and Grill is the easy choice for groups, set in a characterful old wine cellar with a menu built around steaks, grills and familiar favourites. The wine cellar setting adds character, and the menu focuses on quality cuts and classic British dishes, ideal for refuelling after 36 holes. It's the sort of place where you can settle in for the evening without needing to head off-site, which is a bonus if you've had a long day on the course and just want good food and a relaxed atmosphere.
The Spa Experience at Delta Hotels by Marriott Breadsall Priory Country Club offers treatments including body wraps and scrubs, facials, manicures, pedicures, massages and waxing. Meanwhile, the leisure club and fitness centre has a range of cardiovascular training equipment and free weights, in addition to a swimming pool, sauna, steam room and spa pool. It's a strong offering for groups with non-golfers or anyone wanting to unwind properly between rounds. If you're travelling as a couple or bringing partners who don't play, the spa and leisure facilities give them something to do while you're out on the course, and it's a nice option for everyone to use after golf to ease any aches before dinner.
Breadsall Priory is located north of Derby, 20 minutes from J25 of the M1. Derby train station is approximately 15 minutes away.

The hotel and accomodation were excellent, staff were friendly effecient and helpful. Bedrooms were comfortable, clean and well appointed. The only downside being that it is a long sprawling building with a lot of up and down stairs between rooms, reception and restaurant.

Great food, good value for money, beautiful surroundings. Room wasn't serviced for the 3 nights we stayed, would have expected it cleaned each day

Great hotel , staff very friendly But they didn't have a reservation for dinner so when we came off the golf course we were rushed into the dining room , which was not that busy ?

Rooms were in very good order, comfortable and well furnished. The included evening meal was from a table d'hote selection, was well presented and generally tasty. It was rather strange that there was no table drinks service. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

As for the priory course, great condition all round but slightly less challenging.

Our group included mostly senior golfers and they found the undulating terrain hard going, I think for anybody not completely fit a buggy is highly recommended. Otherwise the course was excellent, in great condition on both fairways and greens. Greens were very good and true but hard to read.

Every hole we played was different and had something interesting about it. Loved it. It is quite a hilly course so a good work out.

The course was great and in excellent condition the only problem was the mix up with the tee time which they had double booked.our first 4 ball had gotten to the first green when they were stopped by two members of staff which one was very rude and were told that they had teed off to early but were left to carry on and some of the members had complained Then the members of staff came to me and I had explained that tee times had been pre book and I then showed him the 2 times that we had and he said some how the time had been moved and no one had told us So we had to wait another 45 mins

Difficult because of the blind tee shots but overall everyone enjoyed the course, would recommend a buggy Or electric trolley due to the hills
