Hotel staff re fab but the hotel is 2 star at best. Very tired interior and rooms were very basic and cramped. The other issue is the lack of parking having been assured in email from YGT that there was. You had to find a space in one of the public car parks if you were lucky that would be close enough to carry your bags.
We were rather disappointed to discover after paying the final balance that breakfast was not included in the accommodation! Fortunately there are a number of cafes and restaurants nearby, and if tee times are early, there is always Greggs who open at 7.00. A number of the courses provide breakfast so if this is reserved in advance then this problem can be resolved
Very friendly helpful staff, provided space for clubs to dry-off overnight! No reserved parking but at this time of year plenty of room in public car park across the road and we were able to move the cars before breakfast to road side in front of hotel. Easy walk to a good variety of restaurants, our favourite was Dolce Vita a classy Italian, The Mermaid was also very good but stops serving quite early during the week if it is quiet which wasn't compatible with afternoon tee times. Both within 5 minutes walk from hotel.
Back room. No heating or hot water first night. Not much room in room. TV not working, smashed up controls. No outlook. No lift if disabled. Expensive parking as none at hotel. Staff were great and V friendly.
