Club de Golf la Dehesa is the creation of Spanish golfer Manuel Pinero, who won 9 European Tour Titles between 1974 - 1985 and has certainly utilised his wealth of golfing knowledge and has designed a masterful course. The course’s two 9s have completely different characters. The front nine runs parallel to the river and provides golfers with a stunning setting and glorious golf holes. The back nine is considered the more technical of the 2 as a number of blind tee shots require precise club selection. The course is renowned for its fast greens which are guarded by a bunkers and water meaning accuracy in a player’s approach shot is key. The 18th hole is considered the course’s signature hole and it is very easy to see why. The par 3 plays over a large body of water meaning short is no good. The bunker behind the green will lead to a daunting shot out and back towards the water so in order to avoid a splash, choosing the right club is imperative. The course is great for golfers of all abilities due to its variety of tee boxes making it a fantastic destination for anyone on a group golf tour in Madrid.
