Golf Costa Ballena
The championship course is comprised from the 27 holes conceived by Olazabal, and at its full length will measure 6,601 yards. Some holes run alongside the spectacular Atlantic coastline, while further inland the course traverses the lush parkland, and this interesting variation makes Costa Ballena a very satisfying round.
Costa Ballena also has an entertaining par-3 course; the holes measure up to 200 yards and more, showing that it is no push-over!
The complex has a fantastic practice facility and driving range, while the resort is also home to a Scott Cranfield golf academy.
Accommodation at Barcelo Costa Ballena
Barcelo Costa Ballena is a fantastic new facility which offers golfers luxury accommodation with close proximity to Jose María Olazabal's golf course. Located across the bay from the historic city of Cadiz, the hotel has been built in the classical Andalucian style and has a total of 228 guest bedrooms, including 12 spacious suites.
All the rooms have either a golf or sea view and are complete with a terrace, air-conditioning, wireless internet connection, safe deposit box and a mini-bar.
There are superb leisure facilities and the hotel is perfectly equipped to welcome business travellers, while the access to the towns of Jerez and Cadiz make the Costa Ballena resort a terrific all-round destination for your next golf holiday in Spain.
The hotel has two outdoor swimming pools, a gym, children's splash pool and a Turkish bath, while the excellent spa complex has 8 dedicated treatment rooms. In the spa and wellness centre guests can enjoy the balneotherapy and water therapy areas, hairdresser and a sauna.

Nice modern hotel, clean and spacious, well served by friendly helpful staff. Clientele were mostly golfers playing at the nearby club, with many in large groups. Buffet restaurant provided a good range of freshly cooked food. Bar was reasonably priced. Bedrooms were similarly spacious with balcony overlooking the golf course. On site parking is expensive at 16 euros per day. However, when we were there there was ample safe parking in the street.
