One of the main benefits at Whitefields is the excellent natural drainage, which ensures that the course can remain open throughout the year, and also that the putting surfaces will roll true. The main focal point is Draycote Water, part of the neighbouring Country Park, which has welcomed many a wayward approach shot to the nerve-racking 13th green.
The 13th and 15th holes are the favourites of many visitors, although some will find their stock of golf balls somewhat diminished by the time they have negotiated the island green of the par-3 13th. Whitefields also boasts an 18-bay driving range, in addition to the excellent facilities for practicing the short game.
The signature hole at Whitefields is the 15th, named ‘Temptation'. Golfers can choose to challenge the 257 yards between tee and green, but water awaits on both sides of the fairway.

The facility has been purposefully designed to create a light, contemporary environment, and a relaxed atmosphere, guaranteed to make visitors feel entirely relaxed. The 49 en-suite guest rooms are spacious, and equipped with excellent amenities including satellite television and internet access. There is complimentary parking on site, while the hotel also has a licence to host civil ceremonies.
The attentive service and superb facilities to be found at the Draycote make it a great choice for your golf break in the West Midlands.
Guests at the Draycote can take advantage of the well-equipped gymnasium for a serious work-out.
Papaveri's Restaurant serves superb Italian and English cuisine, and is famed for its Sunday roast and the “Fairways Bar” offers the chance to enjoy your favourite tipple whilst watching the latest sports coverage on the large flat screen television.
Staff Great Bar Great Breakfast Great Rooms a little outdated
Pleasant stay. Lovely room. Nice breakfast.we booked golf and hotel package. First price it was excellent value
The hotel was as always pleasant to stay in, well staffed, the staff were pleasant and helpful, and the food was good, if fairly basic - there was a reasonable variety to choose from. The only problem we had was a lack of communication between YourGolfTravel and the hotel, of who was in the party, and that there should have been twin rather than double rooms, to accommodate all male travellers sharing. Most disappointing as I'd spelt out these details to YourGolfTravel the day before, at their request.
There was a problem with bar food with wrong items being brought out and many things off the menu, which the kitchen needed to let the bar staff know about. So you really want to know immediately if something was not available, rather than 30 minutes after you had ordered! Some of the party were trying to eat before getting away on the Sunday and had to wait 1 hour for food. The bar staff were really good about it, but you just had a feeling that there was a problem in the kitchen and this needed to be communicated to the bar staff.
Hotel was great. Facilities were very good, restaurant served good food. The clubhouse bar was great too. Rooms were basic, which is no negative. Great value for money.
Only stayed one night bed and breakfast but was very impressed by the hotel and the breakfast was excellent. Also staff were very attentive and polite. Fantastic value for money. Thankyou
Very easy to access Draycote Hotel from M1 , M45 . Plenty of parking with easy access to clean & comfortable rooms . Excellent housekeeping staff . Reception staff very pleasant , friendly & helpful. Special mention for Rosie who was extremely helpful on arrival . Breakfast , serve yourself buffet with hot & cold choices , was plentiful with elements of differing standards as they were kept heated . Evening dinner package menus were excellent . Varied choices , plentiful & well presented . Bar food & drinks were also good except for the Guinness . The restaurant & bar staff were excellent .
We were given to understand that there has been a recent change of ownership. It was evident that the new management were doing everything possible to ensure we enjoyed our stay, and they succeeded. The rooms were clean, the staff very friendly, and the food was excellent I would recommend anyone to stay.
Value for money, clean and had everything we needed. Menu choice a bit basic and a mattress topper on a cheap mattress is still a cheap mattress and not a good night's sleep.
A very enjoyable stay. The staff were all very efficient and friendly.
Dont expect the Ritz but for a golf break its a basic relaxed place with very well trained and pleasant staff.
Booked last minute and was very impressed with the hotel and breakfast. 12 of us went and everyone was happy with the accommodation (which is a miracle)
We arrived late morning and were pleased to find we could buy a round of drinks before playing a round of golf. The staff were very helpful in recommending a nearby Indian restaurant and arranging taxis for our party of 11. There was a serve-yourself full English breakfast the following morning.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and the facilities good. All areas of the hotel were well kept and clean. The trip was excellent value for money.
Our room appeared to have been recently decorated and was nice and comfortable. The food was very good although we did have a long delay waiting for the starter but we were kept updated and we did understand that there had been a problem with a large golf group who had arrived late for the start of the meal which unfortunately coincided with our meal time.
Great room with a great King size. Very comfortable stay. Great value.
A golf break for four (2 non golfers) A bargain at £48 each which included two rounds of golf and breakfast. Rooms are basic, a large double bed and powerful shower. Could be a bit noisy, we did hear a group return to their room at 2,30am. You can’t get into your room until 3pm, the reception are not even prepared to see if the room is available for you. Slow play on first day due to a competition ( next time I’ll ring before booking to check). On both days we found our tee wasn’t booked, the club were able to book us in for a different one but on the second day we arrived at our tee and another group had our tee. The shop said that the golf travel club always check if tee is free but don’t confirm. Apart from the woman on reception when we arrived, every member of staff couldn’t do enough for you. Service at the bar was slow due to just one member of staff, she was running around and coping as best she can.
Firstly a massive thanks to the YGT team for all the help and communications throughout especially as we had last minute issues. The hotel and course was better than expected considering the price. STAFF were excellent throughout our stay. ROOMS were very comfortable, and had everything you needed. FOOD was of good standard and prepared in a nice way.
Really good value

Cannot fault the course
Nothing special but pleasant game. Wide fairways and not too many trees. A few challenges. Pro shop staff very helpful
Course was wet which meant some fat shots but the greens were lovely and hard, quick in some areas
The course was in good condition for the time of year. The tees were a bit rough, and the fairways were a bit bare in places, although this is the same for a lot of courses at this time of year. Pick and Place on the fairways would have improved the latter.
It is a really good match play course with some easier holes mixed in with some very hard ones. There could have been some more info at the start of each hole on what was ahead because the course does get a lot of visitors. Or maybe a complimentary course guide for each group for the weekend. So Hole 2 we all thought dog-legged left rather than right and a few others could have been dangerous where the green could not be seen. Otherwise great challenge. Very flexible and we enjoyed ourselves
For the amount of rain we had received building up to the trip, the course was in remarkable condition. The course represents a decent challenge for most handicaps. Greens were very good, and some of the more exposed holes proved very tough with the wind. Really enjoyed it. The driving range has the TopTracer built in, which was brilliant.
Had 2 rounds, one in the evening which was nice and quiet and the other in the morning which obviously was busier but moved at a fair pace. Pretty course, nice and flat with some lovely picturesque holes involving water and wildlife! Really enjoyed our rounds - the course and greens are in good condition. Again the staff in the pro shop were lovely. Thankyou.
The pro shop experience was good . Not large but reasonably well stocked & extremely well staffed . The course was busy & yet seemed quiet & peaceful. We were able to maintain a decent pace of play . The overall condition of the course was very good with well defined areas of play . The greens were absolutely superb . They were very interesting to putt on with any number of undulations , they were true & fast . The overall experience at Draycote/Whitefields was a good one and once again YGT John did an excellent job in arranging this for me . I will be more than happy to continue my association with John & YGT when booking for next year & hopefully many years to come . Many thanks .
The main concern for our group was not to have too much up and down to negotiate. This course is not flat, but gently undulating and was excellent from that point of view. A small number of the greens are quite difficult to deal with because of the borrows, but meant they were a good test of golf. Hole 16 is a par three island green, and it should be watered to hold the ball. Over three days only a few of us managed to score, but has the potential to be a brilliant hole. Fairways well clipped, and semi rough playable. In good order for all of us. We went Monday to Thursday morning, length of game circa 4 hours.
Loved the parkland course. Challenge was more on the greens than anywhere else. Buggies expensive and pricing was 'let's just say random depending on who was in pro shop' . But overall would play here again!
Very enjoyable and picturesque course.
Good for an average golfer , bit slow on first day as very busy but fine on second. Greens excellent.
The course was good, some of the tee boxes wernt the best, apart from that nothing to complain about. Nice course with a nice layout. For the price we paid great value for money
There are few water hazards on this course, but I managed to visit most of them. I would have found one more if my tee shot at the Par 3 16th had not found its way on to the green via a bridge ! There were enough hills to make the course interesting without sapping our energy. The special offers linked to the course hotel make it well worth a visit.
The course was quite short, the greens and fairways were well kept but unfortunately there was badger damage on the T areas, the greenkeepers were able to repair some of the damage on Monday but there is little that can be done about badgers as they are a protected species. Everyone we met on the course was friendly and flow of play was fairly good despite the course being busy. The facilities were good and all the staff helpful. As always YGT organised the trip perfectly.
We enjoyed our two rounds of golf. The course has some interesting holes and the greens were in very good condition. There had been some bad damage, possibly caused by badgers on a lot of the tees.
Well laid out course with a relatively easy start then builds up to get a little tougher.greens had been hollow tined so we're a bit bumpy. But overall an enjoyable two days.
Long delays, tees double booked. Members turned up and given priority over booked tees held us up. Staff in the pro shop friendly.
GOLF course was really good, short holes but don't be fooled. The 15th and 16th holes are really good and quite daunting. The views over the lake on 13th are amazing. Good golf facilities, with large putting green and range. Overall, well worth a visit, and we would come back again. Quite hard to play after 'the night before'
Greens hollow tined and sanded. Par for greens at this time
