The only low mark on this review is regarding the staff. First of all, I must stress they were all very friendly and approachable. We did have issues with service. We often had to repeat requests. For example, we asked to order food. We were told to wait at our table and someone would come to take our order. We had to repeat this request 20 minutes later. The bar area was not even busy. This happened a few times. It was the 40th birthday of one of our party. A family member had arranged for wine and chocolates. It was only by a conversation with that family member that we realised there should be a box of chocolates. The person had to embarrassingly ask reception for the chocolates. He was told they would be presented at dinner. He again had to ask for the chocolates 90 minutes after dinner. When paying for dinner we had to point out we were overcharged. This took more explaining than it should have. It was a clear, simple error. That same member of staff insisted we had not paid for our last round of drinks, when in fact we paid at the time we received them. This again led to a point of contention that we had to resolve. The staff finally acknowledged their mistake but did not apologise. So, nice place, staff are generally very friendly, but service was poor. Even though it was not busy.
