Spot on for an overnight stay for a golf getaway. Dinner was good but the buffet breakfast left a lot to be desired.

Pool was closed all weekend due to issues with chlorine. 1 of our party had to wait just over 20 minutes after his main meal was served, before his side orders arrived.... that was only after having to chase 3 different members of staff. Twin room was set up as a double which we were advised would be corrected by the time we got back from Golf on the Friday. Still wasn't done 5 hours later and had to be requested again. Shower curtain stopped 2 inches above the bath rim so water was constantly flooding the bathroom floor. Overall, not the best.

On arrival and after check in, we were unable to gain access to our room. On returning to reception we were informed that staff had forgotten that ours was a "special" room - the locking system didnt work and so in order to get into our room we woudl have to return to reception and a member of staff escort us to our room and let us in. Every time. We asked for a room change but were told they were fully booked so this was to be our room for two nights. We then booked our dinner (included) but due to slow service had to order 40 minutes after booking, from the bar rather than from the restaurant. The waitress told us that we were lucky to still order as any longer and we'd have missed out but still be charged?! Its half board, we've already paid for the meal?! The hotel is need of some love, its pretty aged although the dining room has been nicely presented (although waiting until breakfast items like bacon have run out before cooking anymore is an odd move given the hotel was fully occupied). Its ok for what it is I guess, cant imagine everyone will have the key card access issued we had but this was a known problem thats apparently been like this for some time - they really should stop booking folks in until is resolved - it didnt help hearing staff tell us that "if it happened to them, they'd go mad".

This is a very pretty course and would recommend buggies for the second day if you are playing more than once. I cant fault the staff, very helpful indeed. They were doing work on the course irrigation and the greens were in a right state. They have reduced the green fees because of this and gave us discount on the buggies as compensation. I would like to visit again in a couple of years when all the work is done. If the greens were in better condition I think I would have enjoyed it much more.

Sorry guys but this course was a disgrace. Barely any grass on the greens. Not 1 was completely green, perhaps 2 or 4 that were 20-÷0% green. The rest barely 10%. Cracks everywhere. The irrigation trenches from April still hadn't been back filled. Poor signage for "Next Tee's). Entrance road full of pot holes and rubble laying around everywhere. All three of us were in agreement that we will avoid this course at all costs in the future. Wouldn't play here if it was free!

professional and staff did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. They have had major problems with their irrigation and sprinkler system for the greens. Greens verry hard with virtually no grass. To be fair my group of 30 Seniors just got on with it, and had 3 verry enjoyable days, they all enjoyed the course itself.

Remarkably quiet golf course- the excellent driving range had pretty much just our 4 ball for an hour and half which on a beautiful Saturday mid morning was odd. Staff were top drawer. The big draw bag was the condition of the course, several holes had large excavations for cabling exposed, but it was the greens on the front 9 especially that disappointed - the majority still had tons of aeriation holes making putting from anything past a few foot a lottery. The back 9 was much more interesting and picturesque.

The greens were average with very few historic pitch marks repaired and speeds were good. The tee boxes were poor with no divots repaired and grass was too long. The fairways were quite good, cut to the correct level as was the rough. However the bunkers were diabolical with half GUR and the remainder had to be raked before placing the ball. Overall it gave the impression of being tired with a lot of TLC needed. It was a good test with some difficult holes and stunning views.
