A perfectly acceptable course with a few 'stand out' holes including the first which, for a first hole was particularly challenging. It will not go down as one of the most memorable courses we've played but, on the other hand, it was a very pleasant round of golf. YGT arranged a club house 30%discount on drinks which was much appreciated and the welcome and service we received in the clubhouse was very good indeed. As the rounds were included in the overall cost of our package I can't tell whether it represented good value for money but we met a group who had arranged their holiday themselves and paid £65 per round which we felt, for the quality of the course was a little on the high side.
Located in the heart of the beautiful French countryside, a short drive from the seaside town of Deauville, Golf Barriere De Saint-Julien is a magnificent 27-hole golf club. From the course, you will be treated to outstanding views of Normandy, including the gorgeous clusters of apple trees. The primary test of golf is Le Vallon, a par 72 parkland beauty, the championship layout was designed with British style in mind and features multiple water hazards cutting across the fairways. The greens are famously fast so ensure you spend some time on the practice green before you tee off. The 9-hole course, Le Bocage, is a great test for those new to the game who are looking to improve, or as a warm-up for more experienced golfers before they play the full 18. Golf Barriere De Saint-Julien also boasts an excellent clubhouse and practice facilities, the clubhouse is a particular highlight, offering amazing regional food and outstanding views over the course.
