Since its inception in 1994, Grayhawk has established itself as the most desirable Scottsdale venue, open to the public and boasting two magnificent championship golf courses.
Grayhawk's Raptor Course is now a fully fledged PGA Tour host, welcoming the finest professionals for the Fry's Electronics Open, part of the October Fall Series. Designer Tom Fazio created the Raptor to be a daring game of risk versus reward, constantly challenging both the bravery and skill of its intrepid visitors.
The layout can reach a maximum of 7,135 yards, and is overlooked by the rugged mountains, and bordered by the local landscape's indigenous trees, including Saguaros, Palo Verde, Ironwood and Mesquite. Other accolades include having hosted the Anderson Consulting World Matchplay Championships, showing the outstanding quality of this Scottsdale classic.
Former PGA and US Open champion David Graham teamed up with the esteemed golf architect, Gary Panks, to create the Talon, one of the most exhilarating courses in the south west.
Like its brother, the Talon is included in GOLF Magazine's list of the ‘Top 100 Courses You Can Play', but its character is slightly different; visiting golfers will need pinpoint accuracy to find the demanding fairways and the multi-tiered greens. Blessed with the same remarkable scenery, the Talon is a real highlight of a good golf holiday in the Scottsdale area. The Raptor Course is certainly the best course open to the public, not only in Scottsdale, but anywhere in Arizona.
Tougher course for me but in great condition
