Hornbaek is a beautifully varied parkland course with a layout that demands both distance and thoughtful course management. Architect Rolf Henning Jensen designed a routing that skillfully weaves through a hilly landscape, incorporating numerous natural hazards. Players must navigate tricky doglegs, streams, dykes, and lakes which come into play across the terrain.
The holes are arranged in a classic out-and-back fashion, beginning and concluding with a par five. A particularly memorable stretch is the final seven holes, which deliver a unique natural and golfing experience, featuring meandering streams and cross-cutting ditches. The course has previously been voted into the top-10 of Danish golfers' preferred layouts.
The welcoming clubhouse provides a perfect spot to unwind and reflect after a challenging round. Guests can visit the onsite restaurant to enjoy a meal or what is claimed to be the best coffee in North Zealand, often accompanied by a lively debate about the day’s round.
Practice facilities are excellent, ensuring you can sharpen your game before tackling the main course. The club features a driving range, a putting green, and a dedicated short-game area for chipping and pitching. Equipment rental is available, with the pro shop, Shoppen, offering buggies, trolleys, and golf equipment.
