La Table is the hotel's main restaurant, and it gets the tone exactly right. No tablecloths, no stiff formality, just well-executed seasonal cooking in a bistro atmosphere that feels both relaxed and considered. The kitchen works closely with local producers: fish from Lake Geneva caught by the Pecquery family, cured meats from Simon, cheeses from Chalets d'Oche Farm. In summer the terrace opens above the treetops with the lake beyond, and a meal out there as the light drops over the water is hard to improve on.

Sunday brunch is a proper event. Fruit, home-made jams, grilled bacon and dishes that change with the chef's mood, all served against the sound of families settling in for the long haul. The Brunch & Spa package pairs it with a 50-minute treatment at the Spa Quatre Terres and a glass of champagne, which is an excellent use of a Sunday morning, particularly if you have a round planned for the afternoon.

Bar La Bibliothèque is the place to slow down properly. It has a reading-room feel, a good drinks list and the kind of quiet corner that makes it easy to stay longer than you planned. In summer, La Chaise Longue sets up by the pool, which is the simplest possible way to spend a post-round afternoon.
