0800 043 6644The layout stretches to 6,857 yards from the championship tee markers, and is an unorthodox compilation, with six par-3s, par-4 and par-5 holes. This makes building a good score an unusual test, as golfers must adopt a pragmatic strategy, attacking on the long holes and playing conservatively on the testing short holes.
The intriguing mix will guarantee that you use every club in the bag, and there is no doubt that the most creative and imaginative golfers will cope best with the challenge, which certainly reflects the adventurous style of its designer.
The Husa Alicante Hotel provides luxurious 4* accommodation in a convenient, central location, set amid beautiful private gardens close to the renowned beaches of the Costa Blanca.
There are 156 rooms in total, comprised of a good blend of more than adequate standard rooms and some executive rooms as well, while a special occasion would be perfect for one of the elegant and luxurious suites. All the bedrooms benefit from full air-conditioning, satellite television and high-speed wireless internet access, and a private terrace from which you can enjoy superb views.
The central location and proximity to the international airport make the Husa Alicante particularly attractive, and when you add a Seve Ballesteros-designed golf course to the mix, it really underlines how much there is on offer for a golf or leisure holiday at this Alicante location.
The excellent leisure facilities include a great outdoor swimming pool, paddle tennis court, a well-equipped gym, sauna, Turkish bath and an indoor pool. The dedicated health and beauty complex is just the place for those more interested in relaxation than action, where you can sample one of a wide range of specialist treatments.
The Andra-Mari is among Alicante's best restaurants, specialising in authentic Basque classics, and also has a renowned wine cellar.
The Augusta Restaurant serves a fascinating variety of local Spanish dishes, in addition to the best in international cuisine.
Out of the hotel's watering holes, the poolside bar comes highly recommended, while the Mirador is the focal point inside for meeting and drinking.
Staff in restaurant were rude. When asked for different breakfast items it all seemed too much trouble.
Nice enough hotel just miles out the way of any bars and nightlife
Nice rooms are a bit worn breakfast (hot) is very poor cold selection is ok
A nice 4-star hotel in Alicante San Juan area. The rooms are a decent size, clean and air-conditioned. Breakfast is OK, with enough choices when you are there for a few days - although the hotel could add 1-2 cooking stations for example, just to offer a bit more variety. Decent outdoor pool and nice gardens come in handy for any downtimes.
I knew prior to departure that the hotel was undergoing some refurbishment, hence the low rating. All bar and dining was in the pool area and albeit they had made big improvements since my last visit on that particular area. With the exception of breakfast you still had to leave the hotel for refreshments. There was nothing whatsoever in the main hotel. This did not detract from a very enjoyable week. I still maintain that if there is a significant improvement to the hotel and it’s facilities this is still a great choice for a golfing holiday. 20 minutes from the airport, easy access to the course, restaurants nearby and the tram into Alicante takes 10 minutes at a cost of €1.45.
Very good place
Absolutely superb. Ben Dunlop has been an absolute legend. Priced matched a dodgy competitor and everything ran like clockwork. Although the course is only 8/10 compared to some swanky golf hotel resorts, the set up is 10/10. Coming out of your hotel room into a lift, to the basement car park to 8 buggies lined up with your name on them. Fantastic. Course tight enough and great for matchplay.
Hotel a bit tired breakfast cold using a fluorescent tube above food instead of infra red. Again for price it was OK.

Played on the first day without any problems. The bunkers were full of grit and very difficult getting to the green, which resorted to putting out of bunkers. Very limited pro shop. But staff were friendly and polite. Second round was a shambles as when arrived was an Audi comp with a shotgun start. Meant to play at 10:30 but ended up playing once the competition had finished. Started play at 13:30 which wasn’t ideal as in the mid day heat. This could have been avoided as the competition had been booked months in advance. I understand this was a local problem but they still represent YGT as their booking agent. Club house is lovely inside however very limited space to sit outside with no views from what we could see. It’s a shame as would have been nice to finish overlooking a hole.
The course layout itself was great, was challenging. The greens however, were unforgivably bad. To the point where it was absolute pot luck. I think I could mow my lawn and get the greens to a similar standard. Very disappointing.
Well if I didn’t check my tee times I would have missed the golf because under pick ups it said 11 for pick up with 12:32 tee off but under tee off it was 11:32 so I had to phone and get this changed
Nice course, very handy when staying in the resort. Course was in good overall condition. The buildings and water alongside most holes make it narrower and less forgiving, therefore challenging enough. Might be a bit trickier in heavy winds, but we don't know as we got lucky with good weather. Having buggies included is a definite bonus, otherwise there are long walks between certain holes.
We didnt like this course it was more like a municipal course, facilities off the course ie clubhouse, driving range etc, excellent wouldnt go back.
Nice interesting course, must have a buggy due to the distance from green to tee
The course has a great layout, 6 par 5’s, 6 par 4’s and 6 par 3’s. I know it was early in the season but you just never knew when the bar at the 1st and the 10th was going to be open (water & sandwich)
Excellent Seve designed course with 6 of each with different challenges which we enjoyed. Well maintained course with a nice atmosphere and friendly staff and locals saying hello. Minor issue were the divots on the green but that is perhsps player related... Some excellent views and turtles by the water hazards is a nice touch. Would go back and play, long walks hole to hole as you cross the road many times.
we all thought it was a one time experience………… the last round was 5hrs30minutes in buggy
Great quirky course
Very nice course, quite long and fairly difficult but very enjoyable to play.
Superb. 3 days of Ryder Cup style matches. The drinks cart could have appeared more frequently but we brought our own and she served tapas!! Perfect venue for Matchplay golf.
Unfortunately greens were well below the standard you would expect. Only about a quarter inch of turf then just sand below. Bunkers were a disgrace more like concrete dust than sand. For the price paid it was maybe to be expected though.
Only got to play 9 holes as YGT booked the wrong tee times meaning we couldn’t play 18. Pre booked buggies not all available when we were due to tee off meaning we were late getting off. Greens were in a poor state. It’s very convenient to Alicante and has some ok holes but just let down by maintenance. Bar and other facilities are very good. Service at the course and I then bar was very good, as was the food and drink.
