The hotel was absolutely lovely, and all the amenities were great. Staff were exceptionally friendly and the building was also a beautiful area. There were lovely views of the golf course around, even from the restaurant. One thing that let it down was the location, quite literally nothing to do in the area, one local corner shop selling basic necessities but with little to do. No night life in the area, and a taxi to town can cost upwards of £20 each way. There are no buses into the almeria which is a bit disappointing, the hotel and food was great just slightly let down by the area

The room was adequate after we got it changed to an apartment. Food preparation very poor. The location is not great.

It is quite a grand hotel with huge marble foyers and spacious rooms. It is very well furnished and decorated. Nice little touches like free orange juice and water in the reception foyer. The only let-down was the bed - the bed was very hard; we asked for a "topper" to make it softer but it didn't make any difference so we ended up putting blankets directly onto the mattress. The breakfast buffet was very good and we would go again ( with our own topper !).

The golf course had lovely surrounding views, however the facilities slightly brought my rating down. The driving range has a limit of 150m which can drastically limit the amount of practice you are able to do. Towards the end of our stay the greens were aerated and this unfortunately meant that some of the greens were basically unplayable. Huge bumps on the green with turf pulled up slightly. It would seem that the staff at the pro shop didn’t really know that they were going to be aerated. Half the greens were which meant that some of the holes were completely fine. The course overall was rough around the edges with many dry patches - preferred lies is definitely the way to go. The course was challenging and presented a lot of difficult areas with some long par 4s. Overall the par 3’s weren’t too challenging in terms of their length and neither were the par 5s. A buggy is almost definitely needed in the heat of almeria especially with the amount of hills that are on the back 9. Lovely course, just slightly let down by the greens and the roughness - bunkers were also slightly gravely rather than sandy

The course was not crowded so we got round in under 4 hours on both days. We had electric trolleys for day 1 (Sunday) but on Tuesday we were given a free buggy which was a nice surprise. Day 1 we learnt a lot about the course (ie you cant just take out your driver and slam it on the par 4s and 5s). On the second day we had much better scores and therefore much more enjoyable. It was mid-december but still sunny and warm enough for shorts and T shirts until 5pm when it got chilly. There is not a strict dress code so golf was relaxed. The only real complaint about the course would be the cart paths - they were broken up and pot-holed in many places. We will look forward to playing there again one day.
