Maspalomas Golf

Maspalomas is one of the island's best established courses, having been opened in 1968 following design and construction by Mackenzie Ross. Measuring 6,189 yards from the back tees, this is not the longest course around, but it will certainly provide an interesting challenge to even the most skilled golfer.

The course features expansive, flat fairways that meander through a picturesque landscape of palm trees and dunes, offering breathtaking views and a refreshing ocean breeze. With its strategic layout and large bunkers, Maspalomas Golf caters to players of all skill levels, making it an ideal spot for both seasoned golfers and newcomers alike.

Starter was very helpful and told us to play the back nine first as there would be a ladies competition from the 1st tee in front of us.

This is a very flat course without any really stand out holes. It was busy so was a bit slow and there is no obligation to have a buggy especially as many walk so there is no benefit in taking one if you don't have to. Condition of the course was average and greens not great. The club house is shared by non golfers so very busy and service was slow and chaotic. Glad I played it but would not rush to go back compared to the others available

Very slow round we were unable to finish. I will never accept an afternoon tee time again. The 1st tee was chaotic.

Wery windy even though it’s a flat course at ground level. Very flat and not that interesting

Okej course. A little flat and several holes looked the same.

A lovely course with good facilities. However if you are teeing off before 09.00 do not expect to get a coffee and the Bar / Restaurant does not open until then. Course is quite flat with nearly all the holes being straight and it is up and down.

The couse was not very interesting, many holes the same: flat and straight with trees either side. The back nine was a bit better. I would not rush back. There was no record of our tee time or payment so they had to squeeze us in.

Lovely course, wide open fairways. Nice touch here - they provide 2 bottles of water per person in the buggy with an ice box. This course is quite flat so in hindsight we probably could have walked it rather than hiring a buggy.

I wouldn't rate any course as easy but out of the three weeks played this is the most forgiving. Apart from the tees which were a bit sandy the course was immaculate. Not as interesting and the holes were a bit up and down but nonetheless provided a reasonable challenge. Probably suits the more senior golfers who don't want a 5 hour slog. Would definitely play again

Very disappointed on our first round to be sent off the 10th, then being pulled off the course and missing both 18th and 1st holes. The course was clearly overbooked and the staff were not helpful in recompensing us for losing 2 holes of play. The second round was fine.

Boreing course, very busy, I would not rush back.

At first impression, the course looks a little flat and unexceptional. However, there are hidden dangers. The greens are quick and difficult to read. The clubhouse is excellent with a very good menu.

Flat and straight forward course. Greens very good and run true. Facilities and staff best of the 4 courses we played. A course to remind yourself that you can play this game.

Quite an easy holiday course which had generous fairways and smooth greens. Clubhouse great to sit outside of

Decent enough course which is a lot more forgiving off the tee than it first appears, due to having large areas off fairway which is handy if you have a wayward day.. nothing particularly wrong with the course but nothing jumping out as a classic

A well kept course with good greens and practice facilities. Easily walkable but just very flat and not particularly interesting.

Some of the rough is very rough or even sand. So you need to stay on the fairways, but they are long and wide, so shouldn’t be an issue. Lovely views of the dunes as you play the first six. Fun water on hole 16, not too long, so even beginners have a chance of getting over. Lovely friendly staff, really helpful. Great little club house for beers and food.

I played the course with my wife (I am a mid handicapper and my wife is a higher handicapper). We both absolutely loved our three rounds at Maspolomas. The course offers a decent layout that is challenging enough to maintain interest and to test golfers of a range of abilities. Play was a bit slower than we might have liked and it did occur to me that some groups would have benefitted from a bit of Ranger attention to improve pace of play. The pro shop and restaurant are both excellent and the staff in all parts of the enterprise go out of their way to make visiting and playing the course a great experience. We will definitely return to play Maspalomas.

One of the oldest courses on the Island which has matured well. Generous fairways and interesting holes. An easy flat walk

It is a good introductory day 1 course for your trip. With the whole island being shut for a year it is taking a bit of time for all the courses to recover. That said all pretty good but greens need a bit more time. Flat course and you could walk if you wanted to.

Very busy course, and not the most exciting layout. Still, the greens were really fast and true. Some long holes that makes the course a bit harder than it looks.

Nice course to start holiday on. Forgiving fairways shallow bunkers and few water features. Not busy. Nice terrace to have a drink on after round and good shop for lady golfers to browse in. Very enjoyable start to holiday.

Have played course before so able to compare from last time, and just as enjoyable. Wide fairways give the opportunity, but still be careful of bunkers and trees. Have given 4 stars all through but thought the greens very slow, and lot of pitch marks and divot holes, who dropped into one on last day on last hole {9th} could hardly see it let alone hit it, of course the others where very sorry about it, now who's talking about a rule change. Still got a 5 though.

Played this course on one occasion - slightly disappointed as play was extremely slow resulting in abandoning last 3 holes to major bottleneck of players. Clubhouse facilities were impressive and lunch and beers were good.
