The adult only Hacienda del Conde Meliá Collection Golf & Spa sits right up on Tenerife's north-west tip, tucked beneath the Teno Mountains. It's a quieter corner of the island than the busier south, which is ideal if your idea of a golf trip is more early tee times and sea views than late-night noise.

Weather-wise, Tenerife is a strong shout year-round. You get plenty of sunshine, mild temperatures and those Atlantic breezes that keep things comfortable even when you're walking 18. The resort itself feels upscale without being stiff, mixing modern comfort with a bit of Canarian character.

From a golfing point of view, the big draw is variety. You're well placed for a choice of quality courses across the island, so you can build a week that mixes different styles and challenges rather than playing the same track on repeat. Guests here have great access to Buenavista golf course, designed by the legendary golfer Seve Ballesteros. And when you're done for the day, you've got proper recovery options on-site, with a full spa and several dining choices that suit both lazy evenings and quick, early starts.

If you're looking for a winter-sun golf break in Europe that balances serious golf with genuine downtime, this is a solid base. It suits couples and small groups who want things organised, comfortable and calm, with the bonus of mountain scenery in the background.

Who is this for?
Golfers and couples seeking a peaceful, upscale golf holiday in Tenerife with access to multiple courses, spa facilities and quality dining, all set against mountain and ocean views.

Who is it best for?
Golfers who want to play a mix of Tenerife courses in reliable weather, plus couples and small groups who prefer a quieter base with spa time and good dining built in.

Accommodation at Hacienda del Conde Melia Collection Golf & Spa

The resort has 117 spacious rooms, designed to feel like a proper base rather than somewhere you're only using to shower and sleep between rounds. Every room comes with air conditioning, satellite TV and complimentary Wi-Fi, plus a private balcony or terrace. That outdoor space is a real perk, whether you're drying out your kit, catching the last of the sun or just having a quiet post-round drink with a view of the Teno range.

Rooms are fitted out with the sort of practical touches that matter when you're running a golf trip: enough space to spread out your gear, decent climate control for the warmer months and reliable connectivity if you need to check the forecast or sort tee times for the next day. The balconies and terraces give you somewhere to switch off properly after a round, which is often the difference between a good trip and a great one.

Food and drink is well covered. The à la carte restaurant focuses on Mediterranean cooking with clear Canarian influences, so you'll see local ingredients and traditional island dishes rather than a one-size-fits-all hotel menu. There's also an international and local buffet restaurant with a broad spread at breakfast and dinner, handy if you're teeing off early or coming back later than planned. Il Rosmarino is the Italian option, built around classic flavours and simple, done-right dishes in a relaxed setting. Between the three, you've got flexibility to match whatever sort of evening you're after, whether that's a proper sit-down meal or something quicker before an early start.

Right, let's talk recovery, because golf in the sun is great until it hits your shoulders. The YHI Spa is where most golfers will end up at least once, particularly after a couple of back-to-back rounds. There's a swimming pool, private treatment cabins for massages and therapies, and a fitness centre if you want to keep the body moving without another 18 holes. The spa is geared towards post-golf downtime rather than just being a box-ticking amenity, which makes a difference when you're trying to loosen up tight muscles or just switch off for an hour.

Overall, the facilities make it easy to run your trip properly: decent rooms, multiple dining options and a spa that actually feels geared towards golfers. If your group likes to play hard in the day and relax properly in the evening, it ticks the right boxes without any fuss.

Overall a very nice experience. The hotel was very much a ‘couples’ stay, so this could be highlighted for clearly perhaps. It didn’t put us off, though we did feel slightly out of place at times in our family trio of father and two sons on a golf trip. The location, the rooms, and the staff were all excellent, however there maybe could be some slight improvements here and there with eating/dining (if I’m picking holes). For example the pool bar closed reasonably early when we might’ve wanted a drink/snack, and the pool itself wasn’t as warm as the staff described (not a huge issue really). The buffet breakfast included in our cost was very nice but maybe wasn’t worth the non-included cost of eating dinner in the buffet restaurant - we drove into the local town for dinner a couple of nights which we preferred and was cheaper as well. But overall as I say, a very nice experience.

This is s really nice hotel, but it’s not as nice as it should be! Once you get there the location is great with lovely views over the course. However the trip from the airport is torturous involving a very narrow road with dozens of hairpin bends, but I guess that’s the way it is on Tenerife. The restaurants are good but expensive and the main one which is a buffet gets rather repetitive. There were a couple of problems with our room including air con / heating that didn’t work, soap dispensers that weren’t refilled and early morning noise from the corridors. All were put right with a couple of phone calls but I didn’t think that should have been necessary in a place claiming to be one of the luxury small hotels of the world.

Very disappointing that there is no cool air conditioning as we had a very warm week we had to leave terrace door open at night. When we queried this they told us that they do not put it on until the summer the temperature when we were there was 26 degrees. The pre cooked food on the hot plates was practically cold. Although we booked a junior suite we were extremely disappointing to find that it was facing a wall. We had to pay extra to obtain a satisfactory room. You need to point out to clients that there are 3 grades of junior suites, the lowest grade that you sold us is very misleading.Lastly the pick up from the hotel was late and we only just made our flight

Lovely, much prefer the north of the island to the very touristy south

Very enjoyable stay. We felt a little isolated without a car and there wasn’t a taxi service. We wanted to visit a fish restaurant but couldn’t. The swimming pool didn’t seem to be kept at 22 degrees. Not inviting.

We had a very enjoyable stay. Beautiful golf courses as well as well as play the course I recommend walking round it on the foot path. The room that the hotel allocates is on the very lowest level with no view. The entertainment in December takes place on one night Saturday. This means the bar is very quiet. The buffet is good would like to see more Spanish food served Whilst you can’t rely on the weather on the north side if the island it’s really is the best.

Beautiful Hotel in a fairly remote location. The staff are excellent. The entertainment on Saturday evening, a Spanish guitarist & singer were exceptional . A very chilled experience, just what was needed .

Lovely hotel. Moorish design with lots of independent areas making it interesting. Great condition, everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel. Not a place for wild nights fuelled by drinking and loud music. Location great and a 5 min walk from golf course.

Physically a great hotel: nice rooms, great views. But it seems to be managed by an accountant - cheap and repetitive buffet for example. Would not re-book.
