From the moment we arrived it was obvious that the staff were not interested in providing much in the way of hospitality towards our group. The reception staff seemed annoyed that we had requested some information about check in and use of the leisure facilities. This unfortunately did not improve. The Manager on site that weekend was rude and unaccommodating to our group, and based on the reactions of other golfers/hotel guests we we not the only ones who weren't happy. The bar was shut early on Saturday night. No food available in the whole hotel at 4pm on a Sunday. They ran out of beer on Sunday. Only one bar staff serving around 50 people. Not a single bottle of drink water or otherwise could be purchased from the hotel/pro-shop/restaurant and it was 32 degrees! The restaurant was closed the whole weekend, and instead of a sit down 3 course meal, we had a sub-par buffet dinner, breakfast was unfortunately not any better. Beds were comfy. No air con just a fan. Steam room was out of action. It was disappointing as in our last stay the Hotel couldn't do more for us, hence why we returned to Meon. This time however, we seemed to be an inconvenience rather than valued guests. We shall not be returning for our annual trip.
