Meyrick Park Golf Club
Upon seeing Meyrick Park's full distance of 5,540 yards, the long hitters will be rubbing their hands with glee, but it is more than likely that Tom Dunn's par-69 layout will have the last laugh; lining the rolling fairways are banks of thick, verdant woodland that will seriously punish any wayward striking from the tee.
The course opens with a tough par-3, while one of the best holes on the way home is the par-5 14th. Meyrick Park's charms have helped to establish it as firm Bournemouth tour favourite.
Make sure you limber up before tackling Meyrick Park, as the opening hole is a demanding par-3, where the small putting surface is 244 yards away.
The Lodge situated in Meyrick Park golf course offers 17 en-suite twin bedrooms all furnished to the highest standard, providing wonderful views over the golf course and is only a 5 minute walk from Bournemouths shops and beaches.

We have recently returned from a golf break at Meyrick Park which was recommended by Your Golf Travel. We had a few venues to choose from and after our break I am pleased to say we were very happy with the recommendation.
I decided to leave early to get to the golf resort in plenty of time so I could just see where everything was before the kids or rest of the guys turned up. I found the course straight away as it was very well signposted from the main town of Bournemouth...a good start!
On arriving at the club I was welcomed by the receptionist who guided me to the Pro shop to book everyone in for the first tee off time. We had a great breakfast in the main complex then proceeded to take our place on the 1st tee.
The course started off with a very daunting 200 yard par 3 where I, the organiser of the golf break, sent my first ball 10 feet off to the left into the nearest trees, not a good start! The guys behind enjoyed it though with much barracking! The weather was rubbish before we teed off, but as soon as we arrived on the 1st tee the rain stopped...perhaps Rob at Your Golf Travel had organised the weather as well?! The course in general was very enjoyable; the greens were good and the front nine was very open making for some good scores and lots of smiles and confidence throughout the group. On the back nine the trees start coming into play more and more on every side and you have to be a lot more accurate. Get your points on the front nine because they are hard to come by on the back!
After our round we went to the bar where we enjoyed a few beers at a reasonable price...a pleasant surprise consindering the bar prices found in many other golf resorts. An hour of tale telling, then off to the Lodge 100 yards down the drive to book into our rooms. The rooms were excellent, plenty of room and top quality furnishings.
On to dinner which was served to us in the main bar area where the tables were arranged to sit all16 golfers together...a nice touch from the staff. The food was excellent...and I mean excellent! Plenty of beer was drunk in the evening but unfortunately the bar takes last orders a little early at 10.00pm...not the end of the world though.
Day two was the same again with the weather seemingly being arranged by YGT. I don’t know how you do it?
All in all we had a great weekend golf break and I would definitely recommend Your Golf Travel and also Meyrick Park to other golfers. Thanks YGT!
Thank you for organising my golf break to Meyrick Park, Bournemouth. Everything was great, the course was in very good condition, testing but enjoyable, greens a bit fast for my skills but sort of got used to them as the days went on. Accommodation was good, clean and in an excellent location for both the golf and a walk into town in the evenings. Staff at the golf club and spa were all very friendly even the weather was kind, bit windy one day but no rain at all, unlike at home!
It’s certainly worth a visit and I would thoroughly recommend it, might even take the wife next time. Thanks again and I’ll be in touch to organise my next trip.
