1 Night, 1 Round
- 1 Night Bed and Breakfast at The Club At Meyrick Park
- 1 Round at Meyrick Park Golf Club
1 Night, 1 Round
Meyrick Park is a classic parkland course in the heart of Bournemouth, established in 1894 and still a top pick for a tree-lined round in the area. The course follows the natural roll of the land through mature woodland, with elevation changes and well-placed hazards that favour accurate iron play and smart course management. It's a members' club layout that doesn't rely on length to challenge, instead asking you to shape shots around established trees, judge distances on sloping lies and read greens that tilt more than they first appear.
What really sets it apart is the location. You're around five minutes from Bournemouth town centre and roughly a ten-minute walk from the beach, so you can pair a quality inland round with everything you want from a seaside weekend, from restaurants and bars to a stroll along the seafront. The resort side arrived in 2000 and keeps things simple in the right way, with a 17-room lodge, a well-equipped health club and two bars for that post-round debrief. It's an easy, sociable setup that suits short breaks, societies and mixed-ability groups looking for good golf and a lively base. After your round, you've got a health club on-site with a pool, gym and thermal areas, plus two bars for a drink before you head into town.

Upon seeing Meyrick Park's full distance of 5,689 yards, the long hitters will be rubbing their hands with glee, but it is more than likely that Tom Dunn's par-69 layout will have the last laugh; lining the rolling fairways are banks of thick, verdant woodland that will seriously punish any wayward striking from the tee. The course opens with a tough par-3, while one of the best holes on the way home is the par-5 14th. Meyrick Park's charms have helped to establish it as firm Bournemouth tour favourite.
Make sure you limber up before tackling Meyrick Park, as the opening hole is a demanding par-3, where the small putting surface is 244 yards away.
The course's main feature is that every hole is different and will make you use every shot in the bag.
The on-site Lodge offers 17 en-suite twin rooms overlooking the course, a practical fit for groups and society trips. You've got a comfortable base for the weekend, with the big bonus that Bournemouth's shops, restaurants and beachfront are close enough to reach on foot. Drop the clubs, freshen up and you're quickly into town for dinner or drinks. Rooms are clean, comfortable and set up with golfers in mind, ideal if you'd rather put budget into extra rounds than five-star frills.
A standout here is the health club, which is more than a token hotel gym. There's a 19-metre indoor pool that's long enough for a swim, plus sauna and steam room for a warm-down after 18 holes. The gym is well stocked with modern kit if you want to keep the legs moving between rounds. For anyone feeling it after a couple of days walking, the Temple beauty area offers treatments that work well on golf-weary shoulders, back and calves.
On the food front, bed and breakfast works well for this venue. It keeps your options open, whether you want the convenience of staying on-site after the round or heading into Bournemouth to take your pick of restaurants. The on-site restaurant covers classic British and European dishes, a handy option for groups who want to settle in after golf without the hassle of finding somewhere in town. Finish the day with a drink in one of the two bars, then decide whether it's an early night for a morning tee time or a quick hop into town for something livelier.
Think value, location and convenience first, with all the key facilities you want for a stay-and-play break. It's a great base for a UK golf break where everything's close together, so you can spend less time organising and more time enjoying the golf and the town.

The lodge was really nice, simple but had everything you needed. Parking can be a bit difficult as it’s quite a small property. But overall really lovely.

Very dated rooms. Could not stand up in the shower without hitting my head on ceiling. Breakfast was good and bar food good. Drinks expensive and bar shut to early 8.00pm on a Saturday night no choice but to go into Town.

A small lodge consisting of 17 clean & comfortable rooms each accommodating 2 persons in either double or twin settings . Set just a short walk from the bar/restaurant and golf club and more or less adjacent to the first tee .

Great stay overall and have to say the food was excellent! We were told the restaurant would close at 8pm but were disappointed that the bar also closed at 8. Not a huge issue as we were close to town and made it out for a couple of drinks. The hotel would have made a decent amount of money by staying open for 2 extra hours with 14 thirsty men in the party!

Obviously through the summer it’s been battered. So fairways are poor. Really hard course. Really long par 3s. But still in really good condition.

Fairways very dry and lot bare areas. Greens very good. Speed of play about right, not enough buggies available.
