We all thoroughly enjoyed our break at Owston Hall Golf Club. It was excellent value for money. The course was good for most abilities and was relatively flat. The hotel staff were friendly, and the food was outstanding. The rooms were truly excellent and the leisure facilities were very good. Owston was not very easy to find, I think most of us took a wrong turning at some point! I have already recommended YGT to friends, your service was excellent. Overall I would rate the trip 9.5/10.
Owston Hall Hotel
The original 9 holes at Owston Hall were first established in 1922, but the journey was completed with the development of the second loop in the late 1990s. The resultant championship course has been well-received, and from 2002-2004 it played host to televised Europro Tour events.

Owston Hall Golf Club
Close to 7,000 yards at is fullest length, Owston Hall is a stern test of golf, encountering mature oak trees and treacherous water hazards. The tenth hole is the star of the course, where golfers must only travel 284 yards, but must negotiate two strategically positioned lakes.
Owston Hall is a terrific example of ‘risk/reward' golf, and is characteristic of the enjoyable challenges at this South Yorkshire classic.

Owston Hall Hotel reviews
We all enjoyed our golf break at Owston Hall Hotel, we have been before and it was as good as last time, even though we didn't participate in the golf on the Sunday because of persistent rain!
The hotel staff were very courteous and friendly, the food and service was excellent and the rooms were very nice, roomy and comfortable. The table wine was very reasonably priced, much better than other places we have been to before. We had open access to the swimming pool and wet side etc, towels supplied.
We enjoyed the golf; the back nine especially was exciting. The course was well maintained and manicured.
Overall, the complex was easy to find and excellent value - highly recommended and we will be going again. Your Golf Travel were also a pleasure to do business with.
We had a wonderful weekend golf break at Owston Hall and we would certainly recommend it and Your Golf Travel, who were splendid to deal from start to finish, to other golfers looking to book their next golf break.
The golf course was excellent. Although the members of our party had a great variety of handicaps the course was enjoyable for all...a great layout and terrific greens in particular. The clubhouse was also really nice. The food was good; the drinks prices were reasonable and the members of staff could not have been more helpful and friendly.
The hotel and its facilities were also excellent and its location is good as well...very easy to find!
Everyone involved in the golf break can't wait to come again for another weekend golf break, which we will no doubt be booking with YGT. Nine out of ten...there’s always room for improvements!
I recently booked a golf break to Owston Hall but unfortunately had to pull out last minute. I do have some feedback from the guys who went though! I was involved with the booking of the golf trip and, as usual, this was handled in a no nonsense, efficient and friendly manner - just what I like. No mistakes or complaints on any of the admin involved.
The layout of the golf course was good although not particularly challenging for some of the lower handicappers. Some of the holes were a bit similar and became a little boring in places...apparently there were plenty of similar length par 4s on the course that got a bit stale. Having said that the golf course was in good condition and was just right for the range of abilities in the group. Better players look elsewhere!
In the hotel and clubhouse there were reasonable prices and a good atmosphere. The staff were extremely friendly and made us feel at home unlike some golf clubs! They were happy to continue serving until very late and were sociable throughout. Rooms were fine although a little worn in places; probably could do with new carpet here and there but this was no great issue.
For the price we would rate the golf break as 9/10. Obviously not as good as Forest Pines although that was 30 quid more expensive! Overall, for the price I don't think this can be beaten. I look forward to doing business with yourgolftravel.com again.
Our golf trip to Owston Hall was brilliant and all eight of the golfers in our group had a good time.
The design of the golf course was good and made for two enjoyable rounds of golf. Unfortunately the fairways were a little sun burned but the greens and the overall presentation of the course was great. It is a real risk vs reward course around the greens and is open from the tee which allows for an aggressive and enjoyable playing style.
The clubhouse was good as well and the prices were fair. All of the meals we had at Owston Hall were delicious and the staff work very hard to ensure you have a good golf break. The whole golf trip was thoroughly enjoyable and we would definitely recommend Your Golf Travel to other golfers.
We were a party of 4 golfers consisting of myself and my 17 year old son and 2 of his mates of the same age. We paid a paltry £59 each for the golf break which represented really goodvalue for money. Two rounds of golf with bed and breakfast included for that money was great!
The course was in good condition and the greens were above average. We played it off the whites (recommended) as we are all pretty long off the tee. There are some challenging par 3s and from the back tees the course measures 7000 yards...plenty long to test even the biggest hitters. It is a pretty open course and you can give it a good heave off most of the tees with the big dog, which is always fun! The rough is not too severe, and off the yellows it would be a fair test for all abilities.
The clubhouse and bar were welcoming and it has the typical atmosphere of an ex country house, very charming and on the quiet side. The staff seemed friendly enough and the rooms we had were large with big beds and all the usual equipment. The Spa facilities are very good with a sauna/steam room, nice pool and a gymnasium. We all took full advantage of this facility with my nickname of tomato head resulting from a prolonged session in the sauna!
Food and drink was very nice and the prices were fair. My overall rating for Owston Hall is 7.5 /10, which is quite good as I am a bit picky with where I play and stay! Good value for money and a nicevenue.
