While it may be shorter and more forgiving than its neighbour, the King & Bear, the Slammer & Squire has previously hosted a Senior PGA Tour event, which tells you plenty about the standard of the setup.
It's playable from the tee, but the score is decided on and around the greens. Give yourself the right angles in and you'll have birdie looks, miss the wrong side and it's a very different putt. The contouring can be subtle or severe depending on pin position, so course management matters here just as much as ball-striking. Views across the property and towards the Hall of Fame add a sense of occasion without distracting from the golf itself.
