The original 1963 design was completely renovated in 2000 under the instruction of Michael Pinner. The main benefit of this programme has been the implementation of the finest drainage and irrigation systems, ensuring that the course itself remains in ideal shape during the warm months.
Naturally, the undulations of the terrain represent the most challenging facet of the golf course, and at the lower points, water hazards can play havoc with the score card.
