Very busy hotel so had to upgrade to a superior room not sure what the advantages were! Room was ok, bed very comfortable, the main criticism is the food, the standard buffet was not very popular, Luke warm food not great quality, upgraded to the restaurant the second night with a £29.50 allowance ( the buffet was worth £2.50) chose chicken pie (£18) which was ok but not a “pie” but the size of a sausage roll, very disappointing for a main meal, the sweet was nice and much larger than the main course. Generally the staff were very good particularly the golf staff, the odd grumpy one in the breakfast restaurant is normal. A large very nice venue.
