Rooms range from standard to superior and family rooms meaning any group can be accommodated comfortably. To ensure a comfortable stay rooms feature central heating, TVs, tea and coffee making facilities and some rooms feature PCs with access to the internet.
The on-site Playfair is a well known Scottish restaurant and lounge bar where guests can enjoy delicious meals made from locally sourced, fresh ingredients.
The hotel’s convenient location also offers easy access to the local attractions that include St Andrews Castle, St Andrews Aquarium and of course, the collection of world class links golf courses at St Andrews.
Just a two minute walk from the 1st tee pavilion so location is perfect. The room was a twin room and spacious with good en suite. Bed super comfy and got a good nights sleep.
Great location - and well looked after - breakfast was very good …room comfortable - shower wasn’t great but overall enjoyed the stay

Superbly located a very short distance to the courses and bars/restaurants in the town. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Staff were very pleasant and helpful and a superb breakfast. Unfortunately the bar and restaurant were closed during our stay but that did not taking anything away from our stay there. The famous Dunvegan bar was open and is just a few doors down from the hotel where a lot of professional golfers have visited the bar during tournaments there.

Our golf society stayed at the Ardgowan hotel when we visited St Andrews for our 10 year anniversary tour. Being right in the centre of town means that all the bars and restaurants are within walking distance and it's only a 2 minute walk to the first tee of the Old course. The rooms were very comfortable, the breakfast was excellent and the staff were efficient, helping us to book taxis to the courses. Would highly recommend this hotel for a base while on a St Andrews golf tour.
