The Kinloch Club

Designed by one of the games best strategic thinkers, Kinloch is New Zealand’s only Jack Nicklaus designed golf course. With panoramic views of New Zealand’s largest fresh-water lake, Lake Taupo and the natural beauty of rugged rural farmland, this world-class championship Par 72 course is a hybrid between a links and a Parkland course although it is often compared to the classic link courses of Scotland and Ireland.

When Jack Nicklaus was asked which was the signature hole for Kinloch, Nicklaus replied there isn’t one, all 18 holes are signature holes. And many of the golfing elite agree, that’s why Kinloch was ranked as New Zealand’s number one golf course in 2014 by a select team of New Zealand golf professionals, in the top 10 new golf courses in the world by US Travel and Leisure golf magazine and 76th in the world by Golf Digest Magazine for golf courses outside of America.

Accommodation at The Kinloch Club

The modern uber-luxury Lodge has been designed by multi-award winning Andrew Patterson of Patterson Architects. Perhaps New Zealand’s best internationally known and published architect. The Lodge interiors have been masterfully designed by Virginia Fisher who is renowned for her work involving luxury lodges and hotels both in New Zealand and around the world.

A short stroll from the lodge are the luxury 1 and 2 bedroom villas and 1 bedroom junior suites, which are quiet in design and harmonise with the magnificent natural setting of this 18-hole lakeside links course. Dark stained villa exteriors lead from outdoor patios and furnished terraces to interiors of calm and sophistication. Experience huge views of the course and lake, carbon neutral fireplaces, oak floors, handmade New Zealand rugs and luxurious bathrooms with stand-alone tubs in all en-suites, enveloping you with a feeling of peace.
