The Tytherington Club

The Tytherington Club is home to a well renowned championship course in the North West. The course was designed by Dave Thomas in the late 1980's and is set within gently rolling parkland in the heart of Cheshire. The course has a number of challenging holes for golfers of differing abilities, such as the 2nd, 9th and 10th, where you must carefully position yourself off the tee to avoid being penalised for your second shot. You can visit the pro shop pre and post round to explore a range of leading brands such as Titleist, Galvin Green & Footjoy, the friendly golf professionals will be on hand to assist you with anything you need throughout your stay.

A top-quality parkland golf course in the heart of the countryside, however it will be hard not to experience one of the 100 plus bunkers & eight water hazards this course has to offer.

Everything was very good except breakfast was rather disappointing. We would have liked more variety of fruits and some tomatoes with the cooked breakfast. Speciality choices such as Eggs Benedict would have been preferred.

I want to give George a particular mention who greeted us on arrival and was very helpful, cheerful and welcoming. It set the whole trip off on a positive note. Also the rooms were particularly well appointed.

Very comfortable rooms , lovely shower and shower products , very comfy bed and pillows . Very friendly and helpful staff nothing was too much trouble. Disappointing food , small portions and poor desserts . As the course was reduced to 15 holes we were offered 6 bottles of wine with the meal . Unfortunately the wine was not good and Undrinkable

When we arrived we knew from the setting we were in for a good stay. We were told check in was from 3pm but the hotel had a storage locker for our belongings if we didn’t want to leave them in the car. After our drive we were hungry so we called into the lounge area and had some food which was fantastic great quality, good portion size and a coffee that complemented it. The evening 3 course meal that came part of our stay and play package was even better, again great portions and the burger was incredible, juicy and succulent - nicely washed down with a few beverages. The hotel room was modern, comfortable and fresh and we weren’t disappointed with any aspects of the hotel, the facilities or the staff and well sure to be back again

Accommodation at the tytherington hotel was excellent clean and comfortable staff were very good as the hotel was busy.the restaurant area was a bit disappointing as it wasn’t really suitable for a party of 42 as we had stayed the year before and we had a private room.bar prices were expensive £6.00 a pint and bar closed early which is a shame as it is becoming the normal these days.

Room very good, however evening meal awful & looked like it came straight from a supermarket shelf, breakfast poor as people constantly queuing for hot food that was only brought out after constantly informing staff of the lack of food.

2nd round easier than the first as we knew where we were going but some interesting holes and very challenging

Desperately slow round on the Sunday - nearly six hours. Fairways were baked hard with lots of bare patches so winter rules were an absolute necessity. The green were even with decent growth but if anything a little long so quite slow.

Very interesting course with a good challenge , the bunkers are being renovated and even the ones in play were poor quality , lack of sand, not maintained and some with tyre tracks in !

From booking in on the golf reception - didn’t catch his name but nevertheless he was knowledgeable about the course, gave us some tips on what holes and also took the time to know us as we were from our of area. The fairway mats took some getting used to as we’ve never played on the before but after a few holes it was second nature, the course was very boggy the first day and the second day started to get drier but even with that the course was challenging, intricate and simply wonderful. Great course in a fantastic setting

First day the Sunday the rain was torrential and made the course difficult as in places it was unplayable, but on Monday the weather was decent, the course was still wet after Sundays rain but it was still in remarkable condition, it would be a stunning course to play in the summer, maybe that's the way forward.

very testing but we enjoyed the experience rainy day voucher issued without having to ask so will definately return next year

Unfortunately the course was undergoing drainage work & 3 holes severely shortened, also not made aware of two ladies competitions on the Sunday which resulted in agonizingly slow play.
