The Warwickshire Golf & Country Club

Info Offers Courses Hotel Reviews

The Warwickshire is one of the premier modern golf complexes in England, boasting two genuine championship courses, The Earls & The Kings, impressive practice facilities and a great Clubhouse & Bar. Across the two courses, the style of play is varied, with some inland links mixed with parkland play, making for some exciting and memorable rounds.

Centrally located in the UK with easy access to the M40, M6 and M1 and close to Historic Warwick and Stratford-upon-Avon, The Warwickshire is the ideal location to enjoy a golf break. The Hotel itself is first-class all the way, with modern luxuries throughout, there are also a number of excellent facilities available for guests to enjoy.

American course architect Karl Litten, who fashioned the famous Majilis Course at the Emirates Golf Club in Dubai, has successfully blended different styles of golf - inland links, woodland and parkland - resulting in an extremely enjoyable and challenging golfing experience.

Golf Courses at The Warwickshire Golf & Country Club

The Warwickshire has hosted many prestigious professional tournaments, including a European Seniors Tour event, it also hosts the annual YourGolfTravel Longest Golf Day where a select group of hardy Golfers attempt to get through 72 Holes in one day.

Earls Course

The Earls Course provides a stern test of golfing skill, tight driving holes are cut through dense woodland throughout the opening nine while the closing nine has the extra hazard of water to contend with. Good course management with plenty of lay up shots are required when attacking the small greens.

Course Information

Tees

White 7,133 yards Par 72
Yellow 6,770 yards Par 72
Red 5,857 Par 72

Kings Course

Wide fairways, large undulating greens and plenty of water hazards define this as an American style golf course but don’t be tempted to get too greedy with your driver. Well placed bunkers along the fairways and around the greens are waiting for any slightly wayward shot, well struck iron play is essential around the Kings Course.

Staff were very helpful, Saby in particular, we arrived via train and offered to drive us from the hotel to the golf club which was great. Service was great and rooms in great condition.

We really enjoyed the comfort of the rooms, albeit some rooms were not ready for occupation on arrival. We were disappointed in the restaurant ie tables were more like school dinner tables and the food choices were not great.

The bar and dining area were a real disappointment - it's a hotel that seems to want to cater for everyone and therefore lacks atmosphere - the adult only bar was a bit better. The dinner didn't even include dessert which given the overall cost seemed a bit mean!!!

he Kings and Earl golf courses were fantastic, both very different, but also extremely challenging. There was everything a golfing group could hope for, trees, water, lots of bunkers, beautiful greens and great views. The layout of both courses was spot on, with a great mix of holes, including a 600+ yard par 5. The clubhouse and practice facilities were first class, and the organisation of our visit was really good. The only slight negative was the process for getting all our group to fill in the check in / meal form. This is a great idea, and made the hotel check in very smooth and quick, However, it would have been better if I was given a form to email round the group weeks before, rather than having to rush round the group before the first tee time. However, this is a very small issue in an otherwise wonderful experience. The hotel was fantastic, with very high quality en-suite rooms. The quality of the meal was very good, and breakfast was spot on. The spa facilities were also a big hit with the group

Take your medicine if you find the rough, chip back out and get your head back on track. Long and narrow so a true test.

Lovely course, which is tighter than kings, the first 9 holes are quite tight as there are plenty of trees to navigate, the second 9 has a number of holes around / across water. A good test of your golf skills. Several tiered greens, which were quite quick.

Great course which truly tested our range of handicaps (12 - 22), it was in excellent condition with quick greens. Good mix of holes with some difficult and challenging ones that proved quite testing. Water comes in to play on a few holes, the course is wide in places which allows you to recover from wayward shots if needed.

Had a lovely round of golf, plenty of water hence the "hard" quote. Greens weren't great, they needed cutting. Again there wasn't a halfway house/toilet facilities so therefore only 2 stars.

We played in the rain, but enjoyed the course itself. The greens were really good. The course lacked adequate signage and for a golfing venue the size of this, we might have expected a toilet/halfway house on the course.

Having checked in 2 hours before and being told that we would have no anticipated hold up's we did not T off until 15 minutes after our start time and we then proceeded to wait on every shot for the next 5 and a half hours. The Marshall apologised and explained it was due to a seniors match in the Groups ahead and agreed with us we should have been told and given the opportunity to switch to the Earls which was very quiet. On a positive note the 2 groups in front of us eventually got fed up and went in so we could have taken 6 hours ! A shame as the whole set up is good but I am not sure I would go back based on this experience.

Good pace behind some good golfers and whilst there was a little bit of waiting time we could see the line to hit from the group in front. Signage to next Tee was poor and it was not always obvious you were on the right one so having someone to follow again helped. Some challenging holes as you would expect from a Championship course

disappointingly our tee time was booked behind the weekly monday morning seniors competition. Not wanting to take 6hrs we played the Kings back 9 and then the Earls front 9 which still took ages. Disapointing experience as we looked forward to playing this course. Better comunication needed between YGT and the club. Course is a stern challenge at over 7000 yrds from whites with a 630yrd par 5 4th. Greens were again disapointing due to treatment.
