TPC Kuala Lumpur

Having been awarded the TPC license by the PGA Tour in 2016, Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club became TPC Kuala Lumpur. Located in Bukit Kiara, just 8km from the bustling city of Kuala Lumpur and boasts two top class 18-hole courses, both originally designed by Nelson Haworth.

The course is Southeast Asia's first ever TPC-branded venue to host an official PGA Tour event. The West Course hosted the Maybank Malaysian Open in 2006 and between 2010 and 2015. It has also hosted the CIMB Classic since 2013, where golf's elite have all competed.

Golf Courses at TPC Kuala Lumpur

TPC Kuala Lumpur is home to two spectacular championship courses which hold extremely high pedigree in Malaysia. The East and West courses both boast traditional tests of golf on their modern layouts; Parslow & Winter Golf Design revamped the West in 2008 and the East in 2010.

West Course

Naturally, the West Course is TPC Kuala Lumpur's main attraction as it plays host to the PGA Tour's CIMB Classic every year. By welcoming the best players in the world, the course is required to maintain PGA standard playing conditions, and it does just that. The immaculate, lightning quick greens and pristine Bermuda grass fairways are an absolute delight to play on and make for one of Malaysia's most exquisite playing surfaces.

Considering the likes of Dustin Johnson and other big hitters play here regularly, the course layout requires much more than length off the tee. In fact, all 18 holes require some level of strategy and course management; a driver off the tee isn't always the best option. However, despite thought-provoking par 4s and par 5s, its the shorter holes that are notoriously difficult round the West Course. The 4th hole is just 140 yards but the target is an extremely small green which is surrounded by devastating bunkers, while the par-3 11th requires players to shoot over 150 yards of water to reach the green.

Signature Hole: With no official signature hole, we have chosen the par-4 9th as the standout highlight of the course. Off the tee, don't reach straight for the driver as you'll see a pond cutting into the fairway on the right, while the left is clear but leaves a harder line to the green. Once on the fairway, you'll be hitting up towards an elevated, undulating green which is well protected by deep bunkers.

East Course

Despite not having the big tournament experience like its sister course, the East Course is by no means inferior and has recently been voted the 4th best course in Malaysia. Playing at 7246 yards, this parkland layout epitomises risk and reward golf; big hitters will have the advantage but they will be punished if not accurate. Many of the holes are tightly tree-lined while the more open holes boast very thick rough which should be avoided at all costs. Elevated tees will afford views of the beautiful landscape for most of your round, but the elevation changes are also rife on the fairways with undulation throughout.

Signature Hole: The par-5 16th on the East Course is 458 yards long and is possibly the toughest hole on the course. Off the tee, consider the bunkers on the left and lake on the right of the fairway. As you near the green, the "lay-up area" is littered with bunkers while a third shot near the hole will be possibly over the edge of the pond which sits to the left.

To match the two impressive courses, the facilities at TPC Kuala Lumpur are equally as majestic. Off the course, golfers can enjoy the state-of-the-art, three level driving range to practice their game as well as speak to the resident pro at the fully equipped pro shop.

The recently refurbished clubhouse also boasts incredible facilities with some of the best dining services you will find at a golf course. The golfers terrace offers al fresco dining overlooking the courses while on-site you can also enjoy international cuisines at Asian, Indian and Japanese restaurants.
