Ufford Park Golf Resort is a serious golf destination. The 18-hole, Par 71, parkland golf course is spread across 120 acres of unspoilt Suffolk countryside. Its gently undulating greens are demanding and enjoyable. A host to the EuroPro Tour, Ufford Park has excellent natural drainage enabling it to be open all year round and is consistently voted in Today’s Golfer’s Top 40 winter course in Great Britain. Eleven water hazards exist, including a large reservoir, which is used for greens, tees and fairway watering.

The resort sits in the heart of the Suffolk countryside, surrounded by rolling parkland and views across the Deben valley, yet you're close enough to Woodbridge for a post-round pint or a wander through town. I'm a sucker for a resort where you can finish 18 holes, grab a drink and be in the spa ten minutes later, and Ufford Park delivers on that front.
Dining is centred on the Waterside Restaurant, which serves table d'hôte and chargrill menus with views over the course, plus a traditional Sunday lunch if you're staying over the weekend. The food is solid, estate-style cooking with locally sourced ingredients where possible, and the setting overlooking the golf course makes it a pleasant spot for dinner after a round. There's a good selection of bars and lounge areas for a drink after your round, and private dining rooms are available if you're organising a society or group trip and want to keep everyone together for the evening.
The Health Club is well equipped, with a large gym and deck-level swimming pool, while the spa is genuinely impressive, featuring a state-of-the-art thermal suite and a full menu of treatments from trained therapists. The hotel is currently undergoing refurbishment, including a new sports bar that hasn’t opened yet. The main building feels a little dated, and the rooms are on the smaller side compared to similar venues we’ve stayed at. Evening meals were excellent, and the daytime bar food was also very good. The hotel was busy, and breakfast was a weak point: food often needed replenishing, and with only one coffee machine—frequently needing refills—the queue was regularly ten people deep. Adding another coffee machine and an additional toaster would make a big difference.

We were put at the back of the hotel facing the car park and not the golf course so immediately put off. When you book along time in advance through golf group you expect them to book a golf course course view by default. The hotel is also going through a refurbishment so expect disruption.

We had a wonderful stay at Ufford park. The staff and accommodation was excellent. There were 20 golfers all who rated the weekend as great. We had a separate room for dinner and prize giving and that made a huge contribution to our weekend. We will definitely go back.

Firstly our booking had been cancelled and all of our golf bookings and we only found out due to ringing the hotel 2 days before. It did get sorted luckily - unclear who was at fault between the hotel and golf bookings. Our room was small. Not particularly clean and shower door leaked ++. The food was lovely but poor service….waiting for restaurant meals. Starters coming out, others forgotten. The SPA was lovely and very well organised. The hotel looked as though it needed some modernisation throughout.

The course layout was great, with three fantastic short par 3s—some of the best we’ve played. However, the greens weren’t in the best condition, and the fairways resembled a ploughed field due to recent scarifying. This had been done just days before our visit with no warning or communication, making it difficult to find a good lie.

Obviously the fairways are dry as tho gobi desert, the greens need some attention but nice course I would think in better conditions
