Valle Del Este Golf Resort sits in the heart of Costa Almeria, on Spain's sun-drenched south-east coast. The main draw here is Jose Canales' championship layout, one of the most visually striking courses in the region. Set across 108 acres of Almeria's desert landscape, the course delivers a genuine test with dramatic elevation changes in places, strategic bunkering and views that stretch from the fairways to the Mediterranean coastline on the higher holes.

Off the course, the resort centres around a contemporary 4-star hotel with 142 rooms and suites, all designed with clean, modern interiors and private terraces overlooking either the golf course or the coast. The facilities go well beyond golf, with a beach club for lazy afternoons in the sun, a full-service spa offering hydrotherapy and beauty treatments, and a well-equipped gym for those who want to keep moving. Water sports and sailing lessons are available through the accredited sailing school, while the surrounding area offers easy access to mountain villages and coastal towns if you fancy exploring beyond the resort.

Almeria's year-round sunshine makes Valle Del Este a reliable choice for golfers chasing warm-weather rounds. It's a proper one-stop resort, so once you're checked in you can keep things simple, golf, spa, dinner and drinks are all on-site. If you're squeezing in a long weekend, it's an easy place to play, eat and reset without burning time on taxis and planning.

Who is this for?
Golfers looking for a sun-guaranteed break in southern Spain, with a strong championship course, modern hotel facilities and easy access to both beach and spa options.

Who is it best for?
Mid-to-low handicappers who want a proper test on a well-regarded Spanish layout, plus couples and groups seeking a well-rounded resort experience with dining, relaxation and off-course variety all on-site.

Valle Del Este Golf Resort

At 6,255 yards, Valle Del Este is by no means the longest course around, but it has a fascinating variety of distinctive holes that are guaranteed to test every facet of your game. The course has been carved out of the desert, and approaching the greens golfers will often have to carry large expanses of sandy wasteland. The enormous putting surfaces allow for a great variety of pin positions, which can make every hole play in a number of distinct styles.

The idyllic landscape makes Valle Del Este a stunning location, and there are times when the blue hues of the Mediterranean are visible in the distance from this terrific resort course. A number of notable regional and national tournaments have been contested at Valle Del Este already, despite its youth, and a visit here comes highly recommended.

Valle Del Este has a comprehensive golf academy, where the facilities - including a large range and an extensive short game area - give you the ideal opportunity to sharpen your skills.

Accommodation at Valle Del Este Golf Resort

Valle Del Este is an expansive resort spread across desert terrain. The hotel is a low-rise, contemporary build with tasteful modern décor throughout, from the lobby to the guest rooms. Inside, you'll find clean lines, quality furnishings and a design that feels current without being overly minimalist.

The hotel offers 142 rooms in total, including 12 spacious suites. Every room comes with a private terrace offering views over the golf course, the coast or both, depending on your room category. Standard fittings include satellite television, high-speed internet, mini-bar, air-conditioning, telephone and safe deposit box. The suites step things up with more space and enhanced layouts, ideal for longer stays or those who want a bit more room to spread out after a round.

Valle Del Este's location gives you options. The resort itself is self-contained, with everything you need on-site, but it's also within easy reach of mountain villages and picturesque coastal spots if you want to explore the wider region. Almeria's climate delivers consistent sunshine, making it a dependable choice for golfers chasing firm, fast-running fairways.

Off-course, you've got a beach club open throughout the day, a full spa with hydrotherapy, beauty treatment cabins and a solarium, plus a gym if you're trying to behave between rounds. Water sports and sailing lessons can be arranged through the accredited sailing school for anyone who fancies a break from golf.

Dining is covered by five on-site restaurants. La Estancia is Almeria's most famous steak restaurant, specialising in top-quality Argentinian beef. Beyond that, you can choose from the buffet dining room, swimming pool grill, beach club restaurant, beach club terrace or the beach club trattoria, depending on your mood and appetite. For drinks, the resort has three bars: a poolside bar, a golf pub and a beach club bar. Late-night entertainment is available at Café del Arte, where local DJs play funk and electronic sessions on scheduled nights.

The setup works well for golfers who want a proper resort experience without sacrificing quality on the course. It's an easy resort to switch off in, especially if you're in a group and nobody fancies debating dinner plans every night. Everything is within walking distance, the facilities are modern and well-maintained, and the dining options give you enough variety to avoid repetition over a week-long stay.

Main course food poor. Not a lot of choice. Chicken, or Pork was pre cooked and dried up. There was a choice of fish cooked to order Pre cooked dishes ie. Beef stew, lasagne lacked flavour. Chips, rice or veg to acompany meat but only luke warm. Good choice of salad etc and desserts.

The room was very comfortable and well equipped two easy chairs and an occasional table. The main problem was the UK TV channels only the BBC world news cannel worked. The staff said it was a problem with the Arial but the German and French channels were operating. The solution was to shrug their shoulders. This is our third visit in 12 months and it still isn't fixed. Perhaps a word from you guys may give them a nudge to fix it.

The Hotel is very pleasant and comfortable with comfortable beds The buffet style dining is fine but we chose to eat out at the hotel’s Beach Club which was excellent (20 euros each way), and Italian restaurant just iver the road which was ok. The disappointing part was there was no allowance was give for not dining in the Hotel hotel restaurant nut hey ho, we were all in holiday. The wine and drinks are priced very reasonably for a 4 Star hotel and definitely buy tbe Ramon Bilbao Red and White wines and the house wine isn’t that great

A very enjoyable and affordable hotel, a little dated in parts but bedrooms were clean and comfortable. Food was buffet and decent choice. Bar lacked atmosphere.

Room fine, clean, well maintained. Staff great in bar, restaurants and shop. Location good for golfers or those who want to relax. Those wanting other activities may find it a bit isolated. Didn’t use spa or gym. Food, this was where it varied. Bought in restaurant great. As part of BB and evening meal varied massively. Breakfast at times very limited choice, varied by day as did evening meal. There 5 nights and the rotation in evening meal choices was limited. Ok for our stay but I wouldn’t ideally go Evening meal for longer. 3 other food places within 200 yards, all good. Golf! The course grew on us as we knew it more. Changed from why did we come here to play to really enjoyed today. It is a good course on pretty good condition but you really need to know it to enjoy. We had sub 4 hour rounds mostly, great.

This course lacks a MARSHALL. We played 3 days golf. Day 1 @ 12:30 Day 2 12 :03 and day 3 @13: 15. You would think that going off this late you would fly round,No. Every day we waited and waited to play our shot. First 2 days by th time we got to the third/fourth hole there were 2 games on the tee and a third coming behind. The third day was worse. We teed off on time and by the time we got to the second tee the group in front of us were waiting to tee off, now 2 groups on the 2nd tee. By the 5th hole we were 3 groups waiting on the tee and the groupe behind us coming up to the green. We had all caught up with the society that had gone out on the morning. For this reason I would NOT go back. It is frustrating when you are waiting every hole to play your shot. There were 2 societies there whilst we were there both fielding around 24 players. You have to have a marshall if you are allowing these societies to book. This is the only way to keep the game moving.

I’ve been many times and realise the course is challenging. After playing the first two rounds, we were told that day 3 had to be holes 10-18 and then 10-18. Day 4 was the opposite as we were told to play holes 1-9 and then 1-9. This was due to maintenance in readiness for a big tournament later that week. This was very disappointing.

It's a very good course with a mix of easier and hard holes. The course requires good management and ball placement. Not for the boomers, a thoughtful approach is needed. The main problem was pace of play. There were large groups, up to 80 players, some of very limited ability. The staff need to be more accretive with slow groups, perhaps making them move on holes to increase pace.

Very dramatic course with lits if views to nearby mountains and the Mediterranean Sea. Basic Clubhouse serving nice Baguettes and Coffee and Alcohol for those if us with a nervous disposition. I didn’t play well but would go back to platy it a little differently next time.
