Great value for money been to other golf hotels and charged for certain choices in menu.

Good stay had by all participating in the trip.whilst beds a little on the narrow side, rooms were comfortable and well organised in relation to the facilities on site. Some aspects in general decor of accommodation need a lick of paint and updating, but overall was value for money.

Hotel is very comfortable. Has a great range of beers and lovely terrace to enjoy the wonderful views. Hotel staff are excellent and very friendly.

Adam the duty manager couldn’t do enough to make our stay welcome but unfortunately not enough bar staff so created long queues. Restaurant manger very rude

Accommodation was adequate. It was like most hotels these days, clean, good space, good shower. There was a couple of nice terraces to sit on with wonderful views.

Had a really good couple of days rooms very comfortable food was great, bar a good selection and reasonably priced, and all the staff were lovely and very helpful

Good value for money

Every body working at the hotel were extremely nice and very accommodating. Food was great. Limited continental breakfast but all cooked breakfasts were exceptional. Its great value for money. Weather was superb and it was an absolute pleasure sitting on the un terrace with a glass of wine after finishing golf/before dinner. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. One of our best away visits.

Decent hotel, beautiful setting. Stayed in a refurbished room, basic but comfortable. No hooks or rails in the shower room.

Rooms recently refurbished. Restaurant and bar food very good. Can be a bit noisy in the restaurant when there are boisterous golf societies in. Overall very good and great value for money.

The hotel is a little run down however, it provides everything you need for your stay.

Absolutely nothing wrong with the rooms themselves BUT there was no hot water at all for the 2 days so it was a cold shower which wasnt the most pleasant.

Hotel was great for a golf break. Well positioned, more than adequately appointed with attentive staff making for a good stay. Rooms clean and comfortable although the lack of hot water in the shower was disappointing.

Staff fantastic, drinks not expensive ,food good. Only downside bedrooms getting a little tired.

Dated basic hotel. Bizarre policies such as no golf bags in hotel rooms but you needed a pound coin for the lockers but wouldn’t let you charge the room if you weren’t carrying cash. Room was stifling hot.

excellent service. Weather was iffy and pro shop managed to get us out a few hours earlier too avoid the heavy rain that was due to arrive.

Need a place for golf clubs

We had a standard double each and both rooms were large and comfortable. Mind you I don’t remember seeing TVs that small in many years😂 Food was good, with a bit of flexibility on the mains, which was excellent. Staff all helpful and attentive.

Accommodation is basic but has all of the necessary amenities required. Nice bar and a great terrace over looking both of the 18th holes. Food was great

overall we were very pleased with the rooms but 2 of our group were not impressed with there very small room with a very small window.

the hotel was just what we wanted, food was ok. dinner was better than breakfast. the staff were excellent. nice pool to relax after our golf. we were a group of 16 men the bar had sport on the tv and a snooker room. perfect for us.

Excellent trip with two well maintained courses. The friendliness of the staff was great making us feel valued and welcome. Tge wide range of food choices was amazing and of top quality. We will definitely be going back.

The accommodation is good value for the money and is very basic but was perfect for the needs of the group. I would 100% recommend the location. The staff were on hand to support and were very helpful.

The rooms are basic 3* small 16 inch TV. However clean and tidy.

I would probably say that the facilities are now getting a little tired, but still a good location for Golf Societies or Groups travelling to play golf together. Service was overall good, and food was good too.

Nothing too much trouble for any of the staff. Breakfast - cereals, juices, toast, jams pastries with full English very good, and 3 course evening meal with good variety on the menu list. Amenities (Swimming pool in particular) perfect after a day’s golfing Lunch time menu was reasonably priced and beer prices were below what I was expecting working out on par with pub prices All round, no complaints and would book again

Rooms were looking tired, the beds and in particular the mattress wasn’t very firm but almost no existent, not that you want a TV in your room but one bigger than a laptop screen might be better when your 15ft away on your bed, bathroom albeit efficient was again tired looking, signs of a flood or water damage to the corridor carpet as well

Wensum is a quality place. Two nice courses with a very interesting back 9 on the Wensum. It is never overly busy, rarely a queue out on the course to play. The bar staff and restaurant staff cannot be more helpful and reception staff are exceptional - cannot do enough for you. The onion rings are brilliant!!

Staff were accommodating however they had a wedding on which took up all of their time. Our dinner got moved back to later due to lack of staff and then we waited a while for dinner anyway. Food was average, breakfast was poor.

Really happy with everything bar was great for a big group and the food was lovely. Our only grumble would be the rooms were very hot with heating on in the hall way on a 20°+ day

The hotel is very old fashioned, doesn't appear to Have been changed for 20-30 years. Large bar with sky sports, food was average.

The decor is straight out of the eighties, but the rooms and bar/restaurant are extremely clean and tidy. Staff are friendly and cooperative, meals were tasty and well presented.

Not a pretty building for sure..but rooms were large, good shower, tea/coffee in room. Food was ok..good breakfast. Service was ok, too. Definitely good value.

Under Covid guidelines we felt very safe and the staff were excellent. Waitress service at tables was 1st class. On a hot day if anything as rooms face the afternoon sun air conditioning would have been good but otherwise very happy.

Great place for a golf weekend, the staff were fantastic, all really friendly and very happy to join in with the fun.

We had a great time all in all, however we all felt that the rooms and the facilities that we used felt alittle dated. The snooker room was very dark and dingy. Staff were ever so friendly food was good. Bearing the above in mind we still felt we got good value for money.

The hotel and golf courses were pleasant. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and the meals represented good value for money. However the decor and lighting are tired and the overall impression is rather gloomy. Our room was a really good size but the lighting was abysmal and extremely inadequate in the bathroom. The overall impression was outdated and tired. The corridor outside the room needed a good vacuum but this did not happen once during our four day stay. Overall if you are looking for a good value break without any bells or whistles, this venue would be a pleasant choice.

The hotel and staff and food was very lovely apart from the pro shop were 1 member of staff was very unhelpful and been told how tee time was wrong when I have it in an e Mail that it was earlier it was only when an other member came in and was very helpful that we got of earlier add to this a few of my group got a bit uptight so all in all the hotel and hotel staff were lovely but as for the staff in pro shop not for us again my group have now told me to not use your golf travel thank you

Second visit to wensum valley and all very good. Clean, comfortable and good food. Very good value for money Nd will certainly consider a return visit.

I took 12 golfers for 3 days golf which included 2 nights in the hotel,it was fantastic. This hotel has everything that we all needed

Just back from a very relaxing weekend at the Wensum Valley Golf and Country Club. The Ritz it ain't but for the money, we were all delighted with the setup and the stay. The hotel, though a little tired, is clean and comfortable. The food however, is outstanding and the 'carvery' on Saturday night superb. Alongside the two courses, The Valley and The Wensum are a real test for all abilities as it was for our party [hcps 6 - 28]. Also has a first class, well stocked pro shop with a very helpful team of people.

Quite a leisurely course to play - lovely condition

Considering the rain we’ve had the course was in great condition. Greens were on the bobbly side, but that’s understandable this time of year.

The greens were very difficult

Course was in fair condition for the time of year with fairways a little run down and patchy. Front 9 was fairly easy to navigate and provided a comfortable round for all with a few challenging holes, the back 9 was pure entertainment with the ponds and streams which weaved through the holes. This was however overshadowed again by no course marshals or starter which lead to an extremely slow round. At one point we had 4 groups on one hole. This was due to a group of a 2 ball and 3 ball playing together and holding up the course. After 2 calls to the proshop and 1 to the hotel, they finally sent someone out to talk to the group in question which marginally sped up play. By which time we were already left frustrated. Also again with no halfway house and 9th/10th at back of course so couldn't even nip back to the club house or pro shop Overall day 2 was a frustrating day that overshadowed a good days golf. It was agreed that we might come back, but definitely not at the weekend as it felt cramped with fsr to many groups.

Course was in great condition for the time of year and provided a comfortable round for all with a few challenging holes. The course is beautiful with wonderful views of the countryside off all holes. The greens were excellent despite the long dry season. I’ve played loads of top courses but this will be right up there in terms of enjoyment. Lovely course and would recommend it.

Front 9 was similar to the valley course. The back 9 had a lot of water which slowed things up. Course was well kept though.

The course was in good condition all round apart from the bunkers which were inconsistent. Some ok,some with little sand. This was an open course but with difficult greens.

Played well front 9 then fell drastically away back 9. Lots of water. You need to be strategic on back 9. Saying that the back 9 is worth playing just for the beauty of it. Well worth a visit.

Played this course twice and did a lot better 2nd time round. Fairways dry but helped the ball run further and preferred lies still in place helped. Scenery was great, course looked lovely and well maintained. Definitely worth a visit.

Lovely course. Tee boxes very good. Greens were quite fast, lots of slope and contours. A test of putting ability. Recommended.

Course in great condition. Back nine is quite tricky with a lot of water in play and narrow fairways.

Some watering on the course required. A general tidy up around the course would smarten up the experience. Will come back. Good value for money.

The valley course was picturesque, tree lined and provided a different challenge to the Wensum course. Not sure which I preferred however the greens were slightly better on the Valley

The Wensum course was beautiful, from hole 11 through hole 15 the water provided a real challenge, the greens were a little patchy in areas but did not dampen the experience

Only reason ive said the course was hard is because the 12th green is by for the hardest any of our group of 8 have putted on, almost impossible but made it fun i suppose.

Thoroughly enjoyable with the back 9 very different from the front 9, lots of water lol.

Get ready to loose a few balls in the numerous lakes and narrow fairways

We didn't actually play the Valley so the star ratings above are for the Wensum course. The pro was very accommodating as he let us swap from the Valley course to the Wensum. The same group as yesterday were going to be in front of us - didn't fancy another near five hour round. We got round in 3 hours 40 minutes; result!

Some excellent holes especially 11-16 where precision off the tee is more important than distance. Greens were very slow and quite bumpy but it's winter so not unexpected really. The whole round was, however, spoiled by the pace of play. We followed a large society and had to wait to play on every hole. At one point of the round there were four groups queued up waiting to tee off. A course marshall may have avoided the 4 hour 48 minute round that we endured.

The oldest of the 2 courses a delight to play. Just keep out of the trees and most of the greens are tricky.

Course is fine till you come to holes 11-16, you need to be very accurate. It can destroy what was building up to be a good rpund.

Good course layout enjoyed the round. It was very scorched in various places. The biggest issue was there were very few 150 markers and no 100 markers. Driving range was extremely basic.

again excellent. Had serious rainfall before teeing off. Course was damp which was expected after 12 hrs solid rainfall but was still playable.

Disappointingly the course was closed on the second day of our visit so we weren’t able to play it. We’d like to go back and play it later in the year as the overall experience at Wensum Vally was very enjoyable.

The course was a bit short and straightforward with several per 4s under 300 yards. However the greens were good protection as they were well contoured and there weren’t too many straight putts even from 3 feet. The course was in good condition, despite the weather, but there was some pools of water forming later in the round.

Tougher than the Valley course, some harder holes due to the water hazards. Very enjoyable

overall we enjoyed our game but due to recent weather the greens were very fluffy.

we played in very windy and wet conditions so the course was harder to play. i thought the fairways were very good. greens are really tricky because of the slopes, several time i was further away from the hole after a putt. holes are a bit samey, overall liked the Wensum course best but happy to endorse the Valley course.

Overall the two courses are fine the valley course is shorter and greens driveable from the yellow tees.

The greens are slow and fringe has poor grass.

After playing and speaking with several members, whilst the course was overall ok and good for our purpose I would say that the fairways, greens & bunkers could do with a bit of attention. It is always difficult to get adequate maintenance completed when traffic levels are high and facilities are used by lots of visiting societies.

Nice course. Some nice early holes and then the crazy back 9!! Shame that we’ve had so much recent rain as the water holes were a bit boggy. In the summer I could imagine that that stretch could be incredible to play!!

Was told this is the lesser of the two courses but preferred it to the Wensum. Lots of rain recently, so the spiked greens hadn’t recovered and were bobbly. But understandable. Overall really nice course with some lovely looking holes!!

Wensum Course longer than the Valley course with good drives and very good approach shots needed to get you anywhere near close to the green. Bit of work taking place on the course but this would be expected for the time of you. A few holes play along by the River Wensum with lots wildlife around. Tight fairways on a few holes on the course so not always a driver off the tee. This course could be a long walk if you are carrying so would recommend a trolley (powered) or maybe even a buggy if you intend to play this course a couple of times over 3 days or so.

Greens had recently been worked on sanded so were a bit unpredictable. However, I am sure that there will be an improvement over the next month or so. Played from the yellows so many of the greens could be reached in regulation, lots of movement on the greens made it very challenging. Very good.

Nice course. Lots of tree lined holes. Green in fair condition but some were different to others in terms of how recently they had been cut and rolled.

Enjoyable - the green varied in upkeep and some if the cup hole immediate surroundings played like a comedy crazy golf course where the ball seemed to detour, last second, from any angle of approach. It is heavily used and it shows in places but these are not complaints, just observations. Both courses are well worth playing. The back 9 is a real test due to the water.

A lot easier than its sibling course. Short, gettable par 4's (off the tee) and 5's in 2 shots. Shame the last 2 holes has OB everywhere as it made the end of our match very boring hitting irons off the tee! But in good nick.

Great course in great condition. lots of water spread over 6 holes on the back. People complained about it but it just required some decent well thought out shots. Driving range needs updating but the course was great.

We initially planned to play the Wensum course twice, but because of weather conditions we changed to the less demanding Valley course. Holes 1-10 similar to the Valley, holes 11-16 are the real signature of this course, water everywhere which you have to plot your way over and around, would have preferred to play it again but weather conditions became to bad with wind and rain which would have taken the enjoyment out of our final round

We played the Valley course three times during our stay, tee to green was forgiving but interesting, the greens were difficult to judge initially because of the numerous undulations and pin positions.

Played 'Wensum'. Early season green conditions as usual just needed to settle. Course tough in strong winds but lovely to play. A good challenge

We thought the better of the 2 courses, condition overall was okay, difficult undulating greens, better than the Wensum course.

Difficult course off the whites, tree lined and slow greens. Took 5 hours due to poor golfers in front.

Valley course was a quite a bit better with difficult greens enjoyed that more would have preferred to play this one twice Great views of the surrounding countryside

Wensum main course was tiered not in good condition we were told there had been a problem with the sprinkler system installed even so fairways were poor and the ruff untidy So bad that the second time we played it we agreed to pick and place through the whole course

Better than the Valley Course and despite the rain the Greens had held up well although a bit bumpy. Some nice challenging holes on the back 9 where you need to think about what club you need to hit to avoid the water. As with the valley course, for nearest the pin and longest drive markers we had to carry them so for a society day out, they don't really cater for making it a welcome experience.

Very disappointed with this course and the staff in the club shop. There had been a lot of rain that morning and the day before and i know that can't be helped, but when asking in the club shop how the course was playing he responded "a bit wet in places, but its the best draining course in the area so playing well" On asking for a couple of holes for nearest pin, he recommended them. I asked if they would take the markers out, they said no, we would have to carry them. On heading out to the course there were 15 / 18 temp greens that he failed to mention. We also reserved 2 buggies and understand they couldn't go out because of the weather, so 2 of our group asked for trolleys and were told to come and get them before they tee off as we were having lunch first. On going to get the trollies, they had all gone. This resulted in one of our group not being able to finish the round due to his back with having to carry and he was unable to play the following day - A little care and attention from the staff make a big difference to the experience and has now resulted in us never returning to this golf course. Temp greens were also a rough patch of fairway that were patchy grass and mud - again, a bit of care to rope these areas off when not in use would help protect the temp greens.

Day 3 windy and all the greens were open however in poor condition with moss and diesease. Driving raneg tokens bought only to find range closed and then unable to get a refund so had to buy balls instead ! Weekend spent in hotel was great golf course however was a really poor expeience

Day 1 Told course was open despite howling gales, heavy rain and trees being blown over - No refund. Day 2 Course open Flags were on 1st and 18th greens the rest of them were temporary greens which looked like ploughed fields

As the other course bare patchy fairways with lift and place. Greens again the same not running true. With the lack of rain in the area unfortunately there's not much you can do unless you can water fairways high is impossible. Perhaps best to play these two courses let Spring

The fairways were very dry and bare of grass in places. Lift and place in summer was actioned because of the dry bare earth on fairways. The greens didn't run true but I think they had been holotined recently. Could have been a lot better

The only reason I wasn’t impressed with the greens was that it looked like they had only just worked on them to get them ready. So the aerated holes were still visible and it was tough to put round and over them. The back nine of this course if a real challenge.

played late October after a lot of rain, coarses were very wet and greens very soft , but still enjoyed it played the wensom coarse in a strong wind of the yellows was a good test, whites would have been to tough for some of the higher handicappers, look forward to coming back and playing it in the summer valley coarse nowere near as good as wensom, but a good warm up

Disappointed as many greens were not in use flag put in front of green on fairway no attempt to cut or roll around this new position very poor other course I’ve played make more of an effort of this not told this either when we picked our cards up .

Valley course was in good condition some greens were soft and hard to read would like to go back in summer play the course when in mint condition

More marke posts required along the side of the course as sat nav signals not always picked up.

If I had one complaint it is that the sat nav distance finder was not picking up this is usual at this course so I think the course should have more distance markers along the side of the course in the form of posts. Other than that it was a pleasing experiance

The course is pleasant without any memorable holes. It was not particularly challenging but a pleasant and gentle round. Once again due to the time of year and weather conditions, the fairways were hard and patchy.

The fairways are forgiving and not particularly challenging. Because of the time of year and the weather, they were extremely hard and fairly worn. The greens were fine, Overall a pleasant course.

Can be frustrating as a good drive can find itself rolling down the slopes into the trees. Try to be below the pin as the sloping greens take no prisoners

The first 9 was a chance to get a good score the second 9 are mainly over water accuracy and course craft required

Great place, had Lota of fun with the unlimited golf package! George at Yourgolftravel was verry helpfull and verry professional. For this reason for sure we will Travel with him, again!

Played both courses and the valley course is very playable by all standards of golfers. Very good greens which you have to respect. The wensum course is harder especially the back nine with all the water. Thoroughly enjoyed both courses.

Long coarse as most of the players are over 75, we always play off the red tees which helps, we always have a great and fun experience. Watch out for the water holes.

Everything was good. A little slow, but worth the wait at times. It was a very busy day on the course. Unfortunately our last group out on the course were getting abuse from their following group about the speed of play; which had filtered down through all of our seven groups from in front. In general we all loved the course.
