Great hotel always really nice on the reception when you arrive.hotel is always clean and very tidy.plenty of people going around at breakfast and dinner time.only thing wrong is the bar staff not enough people on the bar.we were a party of 18 and there was alot of people staying there over the weekend you waited along time to get served there was other people behind the bar area but they never help the actual bar person.not my group but some other people did say stuff to staff

Stay and golf were great. Recommend a buggy it has some very steep hill (I’m 51 and thought I was a goner). Room great. Bar lounge and bar food great. Meal in dining room was terrible. Rump of lamb and it was £28. We made a point of letting staff know. On hindsight, would’ve opted for the bar/lounge menu and more chilled out space. Spa was good, but could do with a bit of tlc. Good course. Great value golf trip though at 2 rounds, DB&B.

The hotel rooms were excellent and very comfortable. The shower in the bathroom could do with being renewed, but the actual water pressure was excellent. Breakfast was okay, but the evening meal was excellent. Staff were efficient, friendly and helpful.

Rooms are tired and need updating. Breakfast and evening meals were ok but no consistency - having to ask for coffee sachets, bread for toast, jugs of water. On last day we had to wait for a lunch (we hadn’t booked a reservation) - bar wasn’t busy and when we were eventually served my sandwich had to be returned as the bread was stale. A chef who can’t make a sandwich- shouldn’t be working in a kitchen. As a group booking we would not consider a return trip.

We were on a 5 night dinner bed and breakfast package(we left after the 4th night).we cannot fault the accommodation,rooms were spacious with excellent quality bedding and beds.The leisure centre was also very good Our problems were with the restaurant both at breakfast and dinner The first 3 mornings at breakfast you had to request juices,none was on display.Likewise that applied to fresh fruit,pastries etc all had to be requested,2 of the mornings none were availible,the 4th morning everything was availible and on display. Dinner was haphazard at best,each night our waitress/waiter would give us a list of items on the menu not availible,no excuses just not availible Staff were poorly trained in our opinion in customer relations and in the end we felt sorry for them This hotel has potential but needs to get matters right in the kitchen and retrain the staff

Loved almost everything about this hotel. Rooms were very large, comfortable and clean. I appreciated the room service options in respect of room cleaning and towel changes and our preferences were met Good choice of food and drinks in the restaurant and all of the food we ate during our 4 night stay was lovely. Pool a really good size and wish we had found time to try the spa. Every single member of staff that we came into contact with were professionals helpful and friendly. My only concern was the amount of mould in the shower cubicle. The rest of the bathroom was sparkling clean so assume it was linked to the Covid shut down and it certainly wouldn’t stop me from returning

We stayed during level 0 COVID rules so only table service and the staff were completely overwhelmed: up to 40 minutes to receive a drinks order. So many guests gave up. Also the spa/pool was already fully booked even before we arrived. Food was good in restaurant though.

Generally very friendly staff but overall the hotel was very poor. Very poor service, often waiting over an hour to be served or get a drink. Restaurant was poorly managed though the food was nice. One of the rooms was very dirty covered in red wine with mouldy strawberries in the fridge. It was £25 for a taxi into Glasgow which was worth doing, but the local town Cumbernauld is worth avoiding.

The hotel was a good standard generally for our group, nobody had any complaints about our rooms. All the staff we were in contact with were very helpful, smartly dressed and good natured. Breakfast was good with plenty variety for all tastes as was dinner with a couple of exceptions....The Cheese plate was appalling! 1 sliver of Brie & a slice of something else that was sweating from the time it had been out of the fridge, inedible to all that had it. Next night when ordering from the menu I mentioned the "cheese problem" and he said itll be the same again tonight! Also on the second night, two in our party were served much later than the rest of due to a mistake in the ordering process. They were both offered a drink to compensate and accepted the apology....and the drink.

Considering the weather we have had this course was wet in places but we got a game on the Saturday but just half a round sunday to wet rain was heavy.the course is a nice layout and the holes are very nice with some lovely views.green staff are doing a great job because it has been hard with the wet weather.greens are abit mossy but never put us off.overall i think due to weather the course is doing well.be very pleased to do another trip to this hotel.thank you again to your golf travel.and thank you to max i always deal with max yearwood and he hasn’t let me down in 5 trips.thank you.great hotel great course lovely staff and very friendly atmosphere

Day 1 we walked. Overall the course was okay, but very wet and not maintained to a high standard. The back 9 was more interesting than the front 9, but there was a lot of walking between holes, so we got buggies on day 2. Wouldn’t choose to go back in a hurry, but for a fun weekend it was fine for the price.

Firstly , the greens were extremely slow and in poor condition , areas worn with no grass on some . The fairways at my home course would be easier to putt on . The fairways grass was too long and the rough mostly impossible. On some holes an inch off the fairway was in deep rough , if you found your ball . If in the rough proper , forget it , ball gone lost !! My recommendation would be DONT play this course . The golf course is poorly maintained and it is on land with poor drainage . Just looks like neglected.

Course is nicely laid out but the paths and greens need some serious TLC (told they had recently invested £40K to improve the greens but they were still ropey to say the least) Buggies - hire one! The distance between holes turns this into a 6.5 miles, 4.5 hours hike and that's if you hit straight shots and have no hold ups. We hadn't booked one for the first round and started to get worried when we saw that just about everyone coming down the 18th was in a buggy, even fit young lads who would normally run around like gazelles. We hired one for the second round! Balls - unless you hit straight with plenty of height and carry you should take a large bag of them with you as the rough is a mixture of thigh high grass, brambles and thistles straight off the fairway. Roll one foot into it and its a gonna. The fairways also have water creeks running across them, some of which are ravines in front of the green that you can't see when taking the shot. There was an enterprising young lad on his bike selling bags of balls. He's probably a millionaire by now. Flies - played the course in July on a fairly warm humid day. The course is recovered marshland so plenty of standing water meant a plague of flies. The really annoying ones that get in your face and ears just when you are taking your shot. And they were just the camouflage attack to give the horse flies a clear run at you from behind. Another reason to get a buggy. If you put your foot down you can just about outrun them. But they'll have you when you stop. Beer - £5.80 for a pint of lager and no proper beer to be had. But after the first 18 holes without a buggy we gladly paid it!

The only Seve Ballesteros designed course in Scotland so we thought it was going to be a challenge If the ground staff sculptured the fairways and cut back the daisies we would not have lost so many balls! The ditch hazards could also do with some grass cutting to at least give you a chance of finding your ball. If they did that it would still be a challenging course and then a pleasure to play

The hotel and staff itself are great. The course layout is well thought out and designed and defo not for beginners but the condition of the course really isn't good. I had read some reviews and wasn't expecting it to be all the good but it even surprised us. Granted there had been some rain but the drainage wasn't great, bunkers hadn't been raked for years by the look of it, some greens had disease in them. It is a real shame as this could be an absolute gem of a course,the approach to 14 and then the 15th hole are stunning.

The golf course is a bit of a "game of two halves" the front nine is prised into the landscape, the back nine is a real test with some excellent holes. It is quite a trek with some greens to tees a good walk away but not a problem.

Whilst I have rated the course as hard, I’m a lady golfer with a handicap of 20, so others may not find it as challenging. Most courses at the moment are still a work in progress after their Covid shut down and the greens staff seemed very busy each day. Greens had just been hollotined before we arrived which always makes putting more challenging in my view. The 15th hole in particular was a beauty and a joy to play with an amazing rock face behind the green. Again like a number of courses at the moment the rough was certainly rough, so finding balls was a challenge. I was told the average number of balls lost per round was 5 which I could understand. Hope to return again soon

The fairways were all brown and rock hard, haven't been watered or tended to in weeks. The rough was so overgrown we had a 90% lost ball rate even going in by 2cm. Shame because it could have been lovely. Greens very patchy, like a tartan pattern!

The condition of the course was an absolute joke. There was no grass on any of the tee boxes and the greens were abysmal. Very patchy with large areas of dirt and many divots around. The course was actually very wel designed and challenging, I can imagine it to be very fun to play if in better nick, the scenery was also great.

Greens and tee boxes were in a very poor condition.Putting was a lottery as greens were very patchy and different lengths of grass which we’re unpredictable to putt across.The rough was incredibly long and you either lost your ball completely if you wandered off the fairway or found a totally unplayable lie.

The only part of this course that was cut were the fairways. The tee areas were so uneven that you need one leg longer than the other. The rough was like a jungle, if you clipped the long stuff your ball was gone!!! The greens were awful!!! More moss on them than grass. Not been cut in weeks and every putt you had to absolutely hammer. Do not walk this course!! It took us roughly 4hrs and the 12th-13th is honestly about a 7-10min walk!! The last par 3 you need to negotiate a mountain of a walk to the next tee. On our second day we used a cart and the cart paths look like they have been hit with mortar bombs,you will break your back driving on these paths. Overall I will not be back, this could be an absolutely beautiful and fantastic course that would challenge every golfer, but what looks like years of neglect, it will never recover.

This is a tough track...!!! You need to be accurate off the tee and choose when to use the driver. I would think if you could play to your handicap around this course you will have played well. The course looked tired in places and was very wet. The greens were not good to look at with some areas badly needing treated, although the greens did run at a good pace. It’s been a tough season to be fair, with the weather and the issues with staffing during COVID that I’m sure this course would have encountered. I’m sure they will look after this and sort the issues out when it’s all over.

The course is OK generally but could be better. Starters hut amd personnel were very good, buggeis were a good standard and clean. The course itself is in reasonable condition and the layout is quire good with some very challenging holes and soje quirky ones. Complaints if any would be the tracks and paths are very, very rutted and need a lot of work. Also, the rough is penal, you can easily lose a ball by being just off the fairway, sometimes there is no Semi so you're straight into the Thick, High stuff with no chance of recovering your ball! Tough for some who are higher handicappers.

This is a very well laid out course but in need of a lot of care and attention! Fairways a bit ‘bald’ in places! We used a buggy the second day as we found walking the course very tiring! Buggies have to stick to cart paths and these were full of pot holes and rubble making for a fairly uncomfortable ride! However the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and on the whole we did enjoy the experience!
