1 Night, 2 Rounds
You're just outside Towcester in rural Northamptonshire, about half an hour from Northampton and Milton Keynes. Whittlebury Park is handy for the M1 and M40 too, which is a small win when you're trying to get eight lads, four tee times and a boot full of clubs to the same place without drama.
The resort itself is built around a classical Georgian manor set in 700 acres of historic parkland. You get 36 holes of championship golf split into four distinct nine-hole loops, meaning you can mix and match your rounds and play different combinations each day. That variety is genuinely useful if you're staying for more than one night and want to keep things fresh, particularly for groups where half the party wants a sterner test and the other half prefers a slightly friendlier combination.
Off the course, there's a large spa with heat-and-ice experiences, a modern leisure club, and a range of dining options that go well beyond the usual clubhouse fare. The setting is peaceful, the facilities are genuinely four-star, and the whole place is geared towards both golf breaks and longer stays where the multiple loops, spa and dining variety make repeat days worthwhile.
Who is this for?
Golfers who want a proper UK resort break with loads of golf on-site, plus a spa and pool good enough to keep non-golfers smiling. It works well for societies, couples and groups who want variety in their golf without having to drive between courses.
Who is it best for?
Groups and societies staying two or three nights. The four nine-hole loops let you mix up your 18s, so repeat rounds don't feel like repeats. Mid-to-low handicappers who enjoy testing their game across different layouts will get the most out of it, as will anyone organising a trip where half the party wants serious golf and the other half wants spa time, a pool and decent food.

Whittlebury Park Golf Club offers 36 holes of fantastic championship golf made up of four sets of 9 holes, guests are welcome to play different combinations to make up 18 holes or simply enjoy a quick round of 9 holes. The golf club has a rich history as at one point it formed part of the Royal Whittlewood Forest, which is home to red deer and was once a Royal Hunting Forest.
The Royal Whittlewood course is cleverly integrated into the natural landscape and plays around the remaining parts of the ancient Royal Whittlewood Forest. The area has an abundance of flora and fauna, which made the forest a favourite hunting ground of Medieval Kings.

All rooms are decorated in an elegant, understated style with the kind of modern amenities you'd expect from a four-star resort: internet access, plasma TV with Freeview, hospitality tray and en-suite bathroom. The standard rooms are comfortable and well-appointed, but if you're after more space, the suites come with a separate lounge and dining area, plus bathrooms fitted with Jacuzzi spa baths, double showers and designer toiletries from Elemis or Molton Brown.
The dining options here are varied enough to keep things interesting over a few nights. Murrays is the fine-dining option, holding two AA Rosettes and serving modern takes on classic British dishes. It's the kind of place you'd book for a proper sit-down meal after a good round. Before or after, you can have a drink in the Silverstone Bar, which is lined with motor racing memorabilia, a nod to the nearby circuit.
For something more relaxed, Bentley's offers Mediterranean-inspired dishes, while Aston's blends classic and contemporary cuisine in a less formal setting. If you're spending time by the pool, the Terrace Bar serves light snacks and healthier options throughout the day, so you don't have to leave the leisure area to grab lunch.
All guests get complimentary access to the leisure facilities, which include an indoor pool, sauna, steam room, whirlpool spa and a well-equipped Cybex gym. It's a solid set-up if you want to loosen up before a round or recover afterwards, and it's one of the reasons Whittlebury Park works so well for mixed groups where not everyone is playing 36 holes a day.
The spa itself is a step up from the usual hotel offering. It's built around a series of heat-and-ice experiences, taking your body through sudden temperature changes designed to invigorate and reset you. You'll find aromatherapy crystal steam rooms, an ice cave and a range of soothing therapies and ancient bathing rituals. If you're the type who likes to combine golf with proper relaxation, or if you're travelling with non-golfers who want something to do while you're out on the course, the spa is a genuine draw rather than just a box-ticking facility.

I organised a golf society 'holiday' through YGT. Whittlebury Hall was recommended and I looked at a few reviews on social media before booking. I was not disappointed. What an absolute find. Everything was organised so well. The food was excellent, all the staff were so accommodating. The rooms were a lovely size and very comfortable. Glad I booked the upgrade to the main hotel. We all had a wonderful time - what an absolute gem! Thank you. We would certainly recommend this venue.

Nice hotel beds were comfortable although room 278 was slightly small with 2 twins. Good selection of drinks at the bar although a bit pricey even with our 20% drinks discount. Food in the restaurant was very good both for dinner and breakfast.

Nice hotel but terrible bar staff, not used to big groups even tho they advertise the golf trips. 12 lads aged 50+ got kicked out of a bar for sat drinking and playing cards. Apparently we were too loud. No warnings or anything just got told to leave as we were too loud! In a bar! I would never return

A first time at Whittlebury Park for all of us - 3 x 9-holes courses. We played 3 x 18 rounds; different combination each day. Some of the 9-holes were trickier than others especially the Royal Whittlewood with its water!! Caddymaster was very helpful and efficient. The score cards were set up for 18 holes so there was certainly no confusion re indexes etc. (This can happen when playing 9-hole courses). After a while we even got used to the white noise aka Silverstone! We had THE best time and hope one day to return. We would certainly recommend this venue.

Nice course greens in very good condition. The bunkers left a bit to be desired. Some had very little sand with mud underneath, many with a lot of stones in. Different sand in some bunkers. Signage to the next tee could be better as 3 different courses was a bit confusing. Overall 2 great days.

Arrived on Sunday and played blu and yellow 9's. Good variety of holes, challenging and enjoyable. The course was very dry but understandable and acceptable given the hot summer. Monday we played red and blue and also thought the red was a good 9. Overall a very fine set of holes.i would certainly come back again because I would like to play the course when conditions are more ' normal'. The greens were very good and we all had a good stay - recommended.

Unfortunate start to our first round as our tee time coincided with two groups of men in a competition, who felt it appropriate to join us on the tee box in a rude an inappropriate manner. We went back to the pro shop who moved us onto another part of the course. The course management should have managed this better, and we’re not very apologetic. We were very happy to be flexible. Otherwise thoroughly enjoyable.
