Located within easy reach of Exeter, Woodbury is a golf course that is a great choice for golfers of all handicaps with plenty of options off the tee to provide a memorable golfing experience.
Set within 350 acres of mature Devon countryside, the course is one that meanders through mature woodland and is framed by strategically placed water hazards. The water in play on the par-3 18th hole is arguably Woodbury’s most famous view, with it’s near-island green anyone missing the putting surface is going to have a less than happy to their golf trip.
With a rich history that ranges from being owned by former F1 World Champion Nigel Mansell, being home to locker as used by Greg Norman, home of The McGregor Trophy and even being the home club of popular YouTube golfer Mark Crossfield.

The championship Oaks Course measures a mighty 7,314 yards at its fullest, and has established an enviable reputation as one of the best in the South-West. J. Hamilton-Stutt's layout is carved through the wonderful oaks that characterise the estate itself, and will present a considerable test for even the most talented golfers. The putting surfaces are guarded by expanses of sand, and are constructed to European Tour standards. The quality of the Oaks was underlined in 2003 when the course was selected to host a Seniors Tour championship.
As a very playable golf course, The Oaks at Woodbury is one that is suitable for a host of handicaps and contributes to Woodbury Park's position as one of the top-rated golf resorts in the South West of England.
The Oaks was also the host venue of The McGregor Trophy, a leading amateur event for U16 golfers with past champions including Justin Rose, Edoardo Molinari and Oliver Fisher. When played at Woodbury, Michael Skelton claimed the coveted title with a 4-round total of 289. Skelton's amateur career continued to sparkle with the highlight being appearing in The Walker Cup.
The nine-hole Acorns Course provides the perfect opportunity for a relaxing round if the lengthy Oaks seems too daunting, and is also ideal for those still learning the game. The joy of the Acorns is that its greens are maintained to the same high standard as its neighbour, while the views over the Exe Valley are truly memorable.
The 18th hole on the lakes will test your nerve - under the watchful gaze of those in the clubhouse, your approach shot must carry the threatening lake.
Woodbury Park's hotel prides itself on providing outstanding hospitality, and is located in an idyllic setting amidst no less than 500 acres of Devonshire countryside.
The 56 en-suite bedrooms are tastefully decorated in a traditional style, and are equipped with outstanding modern features such as wireless internet and plasma screen satellite televisions.
The hotel's excellent reputation is a result of its commitment to attentive but unobtrusive customer service, which helps to underline the quality on offer during a golf break at Woodbury Park.
The Bodyzone centre is designed to guarantee visitors total relaxation with its range of holistic body and beauty treatments. Specialities include facials, hydrotherapy, massages, St. Tropez tanning, manicures and pedicures. Woodbury Park's leisure centre boasts a large indoor swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi and one of the local area's most comprehensive fitness suites.
Light snacks and meals can be enjoyed in the Conservatory, which overlooks the 18th green.
The outstanding menu at the Atrium restaurant changes constantly to reflect the best seasonal local produce.
Private dining is available in different rooms from intimate small parties to large banquets.

Everything was superb. Staff excellent & friendly, room was very good, food excellent. We all really liked the golf course. Well looked after and challenging. The only negative comment, and it's a small one, is that the bunkers could have had more sand in them. That seems to be a common complaint across many courses these days.

The Hotel facilities are pretty good but the food was not great and the staff at the hotel were not very efficient. After our round of golf we were supposed to check into our rooms but had to wait over one hour due to a mix up or lack of communication with YGT as the two rooms i had booked for our party had not been allocated (even though we had played gold and our dinner was allocated)

The golf bar was great, airy and light with good service from the staff & kitchen. Rooms were comfortable & clean, the dining area was a little disappointing as it felt like a bar area instead or a restaurant.

Hotel clean and tidy. Spa and pool nice and relaxing. Our 3 course meal took 3 hours to finish on first night, very slow surface. The second night much faster because we prebooked food. Very isolated location to try and book taxis out on night. Make sure you prebook your return taxi. Overall a 3 out of 5.
