Alhaurin Golf Resort

The fairways have some considerable undulations, and many areas are bordered by lovely mature pine trees. Measuring 6,801 yards from the championship tees, Alhaurin demands sound strategy and course management in addition to consistent ball-striking, but even if your score card lets you down, the stunning scenery will not.

The course is regularly chosen to host local and regional tournaments, and comes highly recommended during any golf holiday in the Marbella area.

Alhaurin Golf Resort Reviews

Alhaurin Golf Club - Not the best course I had ever played and really need some hoofs rather than golf shoes on my feet. It was local to our villa so easy to get to but some very unfair holes as there were a number of blind tee shots. It was very pleasant on the eye but not really terrain to build a golf resort. The greens were also very slow and had just had a lot of work done. The club house was ok but very quite and not a patch on Flamingos and Marbella which we also played (recommend to anyone to play). Sandwich which we ordered prior to tee off was stale and was fed to the wildlife. Lunch was slightly better but nothing to write home about. To rate I would say a 5/10.

What I would like to say was Your Golf Travel was very helpful when booking our trip. I listed the resorts we wanted and within less than 24hrs he had prices back to me and booking was complete. The whole process was very easy and no questions ever raised with regards any part of our booking whilst out there which I have experienced before. Buggies etc. I can strongly recommend YGT to anyone and I have done so. It also made some friends aware that they can do golf only and not just holiday packages. There prices were competitive with anyone we compared them to and much easier to deal with a UK company.

Our Golf Break to Fuengirola went well, The accommodation at the PYR Fuengirola provided a good base for our golf break, the rooms were of reasonable size and provided comfortable accommodation for three guys with the use of the pull out sofa bed, we were hardly ever in the room, so we felt this was decent value for money accommodation.

Our first round was at the Mijas golf club (Los Olivios). Teeing it up at 1400 hours the golf course was empty, with the sun shining it was the perfect start to our break, good range / practice facilities allowed us the opportunity to loosen up after our flight. Our party consisted of 4,9 and a 12 handicapper, who all enjoyed the Mijas club nothing to demanding, mainly flat with some nice backdrops and "Fun" par 3s, not too many places to loose your ball so about right for some social holiday golf. The course was in good condition and well worth another visit.

We had two rounds at the Alhaurin club, the staff at the club were fantastic holding on to our suitcases in the pro shop providing us with carrier bags of ice to keep our drinks cold, they could not have made us more welcome. The course itself was brutal on the first visit, trying to work your ball round the mountains without knowing where the 50 foot drops where off the side of the fairway. Its fair to say that after two rounds we actually came to love the course, there are some memorable elevated tee shots to be hit on the front nine, which I think we would all like another go at. Regards,
